The furious fan who claims to have been ‘stamped on’ by arrested Oli McBurnie speaks for the first time on the pitch invasion incident.
George Brinkley, 26, fell to the ground while going for the players on the pitch with thousands of Nottingham Forest fans celebrating after the club’s playoff semi-final victory over Sheffield United.
He was surrounded by Sheffield United staff and players with striker McBurnie, 25, caught on video appearing to stamp on him.
George Brinkley, who says he was stamped on by Oli McBurnie, ‘thought he was going to die’ as the Scot ‘stamped on his left leg twice’. A private message has been sent from McBurnie’s Instagram account to Brinkley calling him a ‘lying little cry baby’. [sun]#twitterblades #sufc pic.twitter.com/3K0ScKDsTa

George, who is seemingly outing himself to potentially being banned for being on the pitch, said: “I suffered two serious head injuries as a child so I was desperately trying to protect myself.
“If I’d been stamped on and my head smashed on the ground it could have killed me.
“McBurnie is a role model and shouldn’t be doing that. I want him to face justice.”
McBurnie denies deliberately stamping on George.
In a private message sent from his Instagram account, he says: “I was stood over you . . I just shouted at you.
“There’s plenty more video footage which shows what actually happens.”

It was confirmed on Saturday afternoon that a 25 year old male was been arrested as part of a police probe into video footage circulating online.
That man is believed to be McBurnie who presented himself to police on Thursday afternoon and was arrested on suspicion of assault, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed. He has since been released on police bail after being interviewed.
Detective Inspector Nicholas Hall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working hard to understand the sequence of events depicted in this video and have now interviewed a suspect.
“As our investigation continues we would like to speak to any other witnesses who have not yet come forward.”
The FA is aware of the footage involving McBurnie and are also looking into it.
McBurnie had already denied the stamp via his personal Twitter account and instead suggested he was trying to step over him on the floor.
He replied to a post on Twitter which read: ‘Wish that @oli_mcburnie video was in full context – looks more like he was trying to step over him with one bad leg! Could be wrong!’
McBurnie issued a ‘100 percent’ emoji, and indication that he was in agreement with the user’s version of events.

Josh Windass also gave his view on what happened, writing: “Run on the the pitch and invade players privacy and run your own risk. Simple. They ain’t allowed on the pitch.”
One user replies to the player: “He’s stamped on him while he’s laid out helpless on the ground come on 😂😂”
Windass wrote back: “I haven’t condoned him been stamped on once though have I 😂😂😂. Moral of the whole story. Run on the pitch illegally might I add, don’t cry if something goes wrong. End of. Mcburnie is 100% in the wrong.”

Social media users had their say with the furious fan ‘stamped on’ by arrested Oli McBurnie speaks for the first time on the incident…
@Lane2ralphlane: Shouldn’t of been on the pitch, end off
@princessrach82: If he feared he was going to die why the hell did he run on the bloody pitch and get himself in the middle of all the drama because he must have gone over to the Sheffield United players in the first place !!
@Rosscowba21: Stay in ur seat and off the pitch and don’t give it big licks then he would be ok then 🤡
@PhillipFlinders: I’ll start the go fund me page, he needs a carer
@mrmiddle09: Maybe don’t go onto the pitch then!
@Azzer28: Poor lad. Maybe he should have stayed in his seat. Maybe this newspaper should be asking him why he was on the pitch in the first place
@Maddog1889: He’s in more danger from diabetes.
@dbrownblade1: Nice of him to come forward to admit he invaded the pitch, albeit on of the last to get there looking at him, I guess a banning order is coming.

@davidhunt92: Imagine being known as the guy who ran up to footballers, started jumping up & down goading them right in their faces… then cry about it when they retaliate playing the victim card. Try behaving like that on a nightout and see what happens; let alone somewhere you’ve trespassed
