Fulham slammed over their obscene prices for the Man Utd game

Fulham have been slammed over their obscene prices for the Man Utd game, with the topic also being up for discussion on talkSPORT.

The Cottagers have increased their ticket costs for the Premier League fixture, which takes place on the 4th of November. in every stand.

And this now means the highest-priced adult ticket is now costing fans as much as £160 for those wanting to sit in the new Riverside Stand.

Supporters are now calling Fulham “out of touch” as the cheapest ticket comes in at £67, which now makes the club one of the most expensive to watch in the Premier League.

Natalie Sawyer called out the Cottagers on talkSPORT, saying: Fulham have released their ticket prices for their game against Manchester United in the Premier League coming up on November the fourth. And it is quite eye watering for an adult ticket in the newly built Riverside stand. You will need to fork out around about 150 pounds for a one off ticket… for one off match. You don’t get any extras with that. That is just for that ticket. For an over 65 or 18 to 21 ticket, you need to pay at least 130 pounds.

Gabby Agbonlahor: Could spend a bit of money in Harrods. You get like, 60 pounds.

NS: What, a little voucher on the side? No, you get nothing, I’m afraid.

Ga: Wow.

NS: On average, an adult ticket anywhere in the ground for that Manchester United game will set you back 104 pounds over 65s, or 18 to 20 ones. That’ll cost you 93 pounds on average, and a junior ticket, 56 pounds, 80. As I said, that’s without any food, drink, and they’re not even helping you get to the ground.

GA: Imagine you want to go with your son and your daughter.

NS: Okay. Yeah.

GA: It’s going to cost you over 200 pounds

NS: Easily…

GA: And if you want to have any food and drink, fancy a bit of food… imagine what the pies are and stuff.

NS: Exactly. I’m intrigued to know how much all of that costs as well. Now, we’re not the only ones appalled by this, because, as you can imagine, the Fulham Supporters Trust have got involved and they are not happy as well. They have said this extremely disappointed. They are concerned that club members are being priced out of attending games. They said Manchester United at home is also a fixture many non-Fulham supporting fans attend in home supporter areas, and they hope that the club will be making every effort to ensure this does not happen. I mean, in all fairness, those prices that I’m talking about there, which are just absolutely staggering, I sort of think that’s catering for the tourist, it’s catering for the casual fan, it’s not catering for the regular fan who turns up week in, week out, because they can’t simply afford that.

GA: And let’s be honest, Fulham’s last game against Crystal Palace, we’re watching it here, and it was the most boring game I’ve watched. Yes. Ray Parlour said in commentary, so you can’t be putting them prices and you’re not offering entertainment. You can’t be playing poor football and expecting people are going to pay that over 200 pound for a man or a woman and their two kids to go to a game is wild.

NS: It is wild, wild. And you’re right, that game against Crystal Palace had 17 shots overall between the two sides, which is the second fewest in a Premier League match this season, so not value for money in that respect.

GA: It should be a cap, I think.

NS: Well, there are for away tickets

GA: I think a home tickets should be a cap of, like, come on, make it an amount that people can afford. You want the fans to come and watch games, you’re going to end up with stadiums not full. I think that’s happening a lot with the Carabao Cup games, by the way. I know for a lot of clubs. I think even at Aston Villa, they’re quite highly priced. And fans aren’t paying for the tickets because Carabao Cup was always one where it was like maybe ten years ago, it might have been 40 pounds for Premier League game, 20 pounds for Carabao Cup to get the fans in, in a midweek where you got the kids back from school and you’re not going to come to a game. But I think they’re still high. Fans aren’t going to pay it.

NS: No. One of our producers is a season ticket holder at Fulham. On average, he says his season ticket costs 36 pounds a game. But if he was to buy that one off ticket for the Manchester United game where he sits, it would cost 77 pounds. So that’s such a difference between the two. Don’t get me wrong, I do understand that season tickets will cost sometimes, obviously less, and you have often the chance to buy them in advance, so they give you deals to buy in advance and then you can pay it over a period of time, all that sort of things. But this does seem as though they’re just not thinking of the fans, they’re just thinking of their pockets Fulham, it’s barmy.

GA: And you’d expect them sort of prices for, like, the top, top teams who are fighting for the title and the playing is entertaining football. But can you imagine, it’s probably cheaper to go to a Man City game, probably.

NS: I do think, from what I recall, when I saw even the season ticket prices coming out, I think a lot of people were saying that these prices were even more than, as you say, some of the quite high

GA: I’m sure Arsenal are quite high, aren’t they, as well?

NS: I think they are. They’re meant to be, very very high…

GA: But over 100 pounds is ridiculous. To go watch a football game? Not a chance, I’ll buy that.

NS: Yeah, I agree with you. I think if you’re spending 100 pounds on two children to go to a game, I mean, how are you encouraging a new fan base?

GA: And during a game, imagine it’s a boring game and the kids are like, dad, can we go early? This is boring, I want to leave now. Beat the traffic. And you’re like, you just spent 200 pounds, 250 pound after food and drink and travel, maybe more. Yeah, it’s expensive during hard times as well.

NS: It does seem as though it’s poor from Fulham and like, I say lots of Fulham fans getting involved in this discussion. Not happy at all by these prices that have.

This is what fans are saying with Fulham slammed over their obscene prices for the Man Utd game…

@ChelsBlue1905: That’s obscene! Make it affordable

@jane36london: I’m sure there are a few (lower) non-league clubs that charge less than that for a season ticket!

@danpowelldjp: we all agree @nataliesawyer but unfortunately, the club literally do not care as ultimately people pay those prices and therefore in their heads they can justify charging them – but most of us think it’s appalling so thanks for giving it airtime on a bigger platform this morning

@89daveam: Cap wages. Nobody needs to be on 20k a week never mind 300k a week. Pay out less would make tickets go down and more affordable. Will never happen obviously these so called super stars wouldn’t be able to cope without there 300k a week how ever would they survive 🤷‍♂️

@dapp1981: Fans need to stop Paying it then don’t they otherwise there’re carry in ripping them off

@Serbiantennis77: The £150 riverside tickets include the lower corner block (TL) where i used to have my season ticket. Its the worst view in the ground. You cant see all of the pitch. Because of this, it used to be the cheapest season ticket (£295). Its an absolute scandal.

@fulham__pat: Needs regulating immediately. Its the only way to stop greedy, out of touch owners

@james_sd_uk: Ridiculous! What do they charge when they play the top teams?

@BenlewisLewis: The problem is the club do not care, they seem to want to drive away the loyal supports for tourists to come. I am a season ticket supporter but the way it’s going I will not be able to go. Also they are charging under 5s to go even if they sit on your lap..

@Garyb28Gary: People saying don’t pay it. It’s more complicated than that. Certain clubs like mine if you are a season ticket holder you’re perceived as extremely lucky. There are also 20 people at least waiting to take your place. You are never getting that back ever

@alfie_mcfc17: football in general is on a huge downhill. everything about the game is slowly getting spoiled

@Benj8764: Fulham supporter here. I’ve been priced out of going to home games for almost 2 seasons now. Khans only care about the 💰get them gone now. Protests NEED to happen. They’re taking away a big part of my life with their pricing.

@SussexWhites: The family part of our club has died we aren’t a family anymore

@eddietheshoe: I bought two in the Riverside Upper for this fixture last year so family members could use my season tickets in the Hammersmith End. They were £100 each. Thought that was a liberty. Now £160. Disgraceful.

@cb1ishere: Those prices are absolutely insane.. £160 top whack for a league game.. that’s like a quarter of my season ticket price in the Holmesdale.. mind you, I can imagine we’ll do exactly the same if we ever get around to sorting that main stand out 🙄

@jamessmithsays: Been a lifelong Fulham Fan but now with kids of my own, I’ll be taking them elsewhere, somewhere I can afford. Loyalty works both ways. Club has abandoned their fan base
