Four goals in NINE minutes saw relegation-threatened Barrow beat play-off hopefuls Oldham in League Two in Tuesday night.
Oldham ahead been one up for much of the game until the Bluebirds scored twice goals in two minutes via Danny Rose and Josh Gordon to go ahead in the 83rd minute, the Latics grabbed an equaliser in the 89th minute, but then the hosts’ Isaac Fletcher nicked a winner in added on time.
It means that Barrow are still sees them remain in the bottom two relegation places, but they are now only one point behind Newport (22nd), Crawley (21st), and Tranmere (20th).
Tranmere have a game in hand, but their recent form has seen them pick up just one win from their last 18 matches.
It could end up being decided on the final day, with Barrow playing Newport.
“We knew they had performances in them, it’s just the games have been tough,” Barrow’s interim head coach Sam Foley told BBC Radio Cumbria.
“We’ve come up against good opposition and we’ve just not had the rub of the green, but [against Oldham] we kind of showed that you do make your own luck and the players deserve that for everything they gave.”
“At the end of the day we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves,” he added.
“We’ve still got a job to do and this just contributes towards a bigger picture.”
Foley doesn’t think playing a few hours prior to their relegation rivals gives them much of an edge.
“I don’t really see it as an advantage. We can’t really affect what anyone else does,” he added, per Oldham Times.
“It might be a disadvantage to them depending on how they look at it, but we’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves. That’s all we have to do and it’s all we’ve done.
“We’ve shown what we’re capable of and we’ll continue to do that.”

“It is not going to be easy the situation we are in,” admitted Foley.
“They are going to be asked to go places they didn’t realise they could go to. But they have proved they have got it.
“Given the situation, the easy thing would be to give up and maybe not take the extra yard. But the players won’t do that.
“They have shown they have got that resilience and that bit extra.
“The bigger picture is we will find out at the end of the season if we have enough.
“The most important thing is the three points. You don’t always remember how you got them.
“But this will be a memorable one to show resilience to fight back to going behind, getting pegged back and then getting the winner.
“We knew we had performances in us. The games have been tough against good opposition.
Oldham manager Micky Mellon: “How can you see that coming? You can’t legislate for that.
“We just ran out of legs. You look at the players who have come in, they probably haven’t had a lot of football.
“However, we have a lot of guys who have played a lot of football who were missing.
“So, we looked a very leggy group for some reason towards the end of the game.
“That is why I am being careful choosing my words because we have had a brilliant season up until now.
“When the emotions go out of it this group has done fantastically well to even take it to this stage.
“We will learn and we know what we have to do moving forward.
“There are three big games still to play and we will build.”

@uptheport383: From Newport, Crawley, tranmere and Harrogate, FUCK OFF
@RazzaRileyy: You’ll get happy clappers that will try and justify that due to recent form, but that from start to finish was a disgrace. Barrow haven’t scored 3 at home in a year and won 1 in the last 12. Hudson’s questionable decision making and shite kicking has paid off today. #oafc
@StarWarsNerd73: FANTASTIC!!!!!! This grit and determination is what we needed all season BUT NOW KEEP IT!!!!!! 3 cup finals to go! I love this club!!!!
@Davidathgh: Crazy. But they might, just might, save their EFL status.

@CurtisJ91977793: Jesus fucking christ what a game of football had everything and thank god weve come out the right side if it weve given ourselves a fighting chance and Thank You Barrow AFC for the lost voice
@DamianHastie: We really miss Stevens (much better when he plays). It’s been a good journey this season, ran out of steam last few games, much more is right than wrong. Key hold onto Monthe & Hudson. Fondop has definitely found his feet at this level now. Need a Centre Mid that can do 90 mins #oafc
@rewster6: Look at how we set up! Look at we changed to back 3 and how successful that’s been! Look at how we didn’t play wide – which has been mainly our success! I seriously think MM wanted to lose cos there was so many tactical issues today I’m seriously fuming! #oafc
@_TN_4: Hard to find any positives. That’s the playoff dream over after two abysmal showings. You can’t expect results with these performances. Incredibly disappointing. Got exactly what we deserved #oafc
