Former West Ham defender convicted of fraud and sentenced to 15 months in jail

Former West Ham United defender Tomas Repka has been convicted of fraud and is to be sentenced to 15 months in jail.

Repka, who played in the Premier League between 2001 and 2006, sold a luxury car to a woman despite him not even owning the vehicle, but only rented it.

In the deal he had signed, he promised that he would return the cash if the ownership was not transferred to the woman, which he didn’t end up doing.

After the verdict, the former Hammers and Fiorentina footballer’s lawyer immediately appealed. The state prosecutor also did the same.

Just last year, he was given a six-month jail term for selling sex services in the former wife’s name. It was then turned into a community sentence. Repka has also been taken twice for driving in an alcoholic condition.

His ex-partner, Ms Erbova said, as quoted in the Daily Mail: “I collapsed when I found out who had done it. I could not sleep.

“I needed to see a psychiatrist, and I am going into therapy.”

Repka said: “I’m sorry – it was wrong of me. But my relationship with my ex-wife was not good.

“I wasn’t able to see my son, and the situation escalated.”
