Footage emerges of Swansea fans clashing with Derby stewards after trouble in away end

Footage emerges of Swansea fans clashing with Derby stewards after trouble erupted in the away end on Saturday afternoon.

Three clips were posted onto social media showing what some of happened, with one fan also seen being dealt with by police officers outside the ground in another incident.

The game itself saw the Rams climb into the Championship play-off places with a 2-0 win thanks to second-half goals from Rhian Brewster and Patrick Agyemang.

The result, Derby’s fourth win in their last six matches, sees John Eustace’s side up five places in the table to 6th.

Swansea meanwhile are six points adrift of the play-off places, and 10 clear of the bottom three, sitting 16th.

Derby head coach John Eustace, per BBC Sport:

“First half the gaps between front and back were too big which was disappointing. Every time we won the ball back, we lost a duel or were a little slower in possession which gave them the emphasis of the game.

“But they didn’t rally cause us any issues. Second half we changed one or two things and our shape was much more connected.

“We spoke about how we’d look to beat them on set-pieces and today was very much a set-piece game.

“We haven’t won at home consistently enough this year and the main thing was to make sure we won the game.”

Swansea head coach Vitor Matos:

“In the Championship, set-pieces are really massive. We knew that – we are using them as well at the moment.

“Derby scored from a set-piece and that changed a little bit the game.

“First half I thought we were really good, especially the way we control, aggression, counter-pressing was brilliant. We got some situations where we can be effective and they are what we need to grab.

“Then it’s about how can we react to a set-piece goal. We made some steps to get back [into the game], then the second goal was tough for us.

“It’s important that we grab the good things and keep improving the other ones. Today was clear that we have to keep improving set-pieces.”

Here’s how fans reacted as footage emerges of Swansea fans clashing with Derby stewards after trouble in the away end…

@dcfcmatty05: What on earth was going on in that Swansea away end at full time? 😂 #dcfc #swans

@dcfcGeorge84: Young Swansea fan tried ripping a seat so the stewards told him to stop. Swansea fans didn’t like that so they tried to beat up the steward even though he was just doing his job. Same young football fans that want to be hooligans. Embarrassing #dcfcfans #scfc

@RBooth9: Swansea fans giving it the ‘oleee’ at 0-0 then proceeding to loose 2-0 is poetic justice! Up the Shithouse Rams!! 🐏 #dcfc

@xelladeex: 🐏 that was thoroughly enjoyable… made even better by having 3 Swansea fans sat next to us in the east stand 😂 who tried to sneak out on the 2nd goal!!! Cue the chants 🎵

@cLawn22: Remember when Swansea fans were ole’ing at 0-0

@ross_knight98: Best thing was they was scrapping over seats they had broken ahahah 😂

@TJ_DCFC: Derby 2-0 Swansea! Swansea fans fighting amongst themselves after the game😂😂😂😂Happy Fucking Valentines Day❤️🐏 #dcfc

@ross_knight98: Bunch of kids giving it large all game 😂🤦‍♂️

@marc_white86: Someone had there first drink

@joshthomas28020: Kids ripping seats out stewards abusing there power and threw a kid around and then punched the kid who was no older than 16 so all the people at the back up and it started a massive brawl between the fans and stewards

@M_watson___: Dont break seats simple

@joshthomas28020: I agree the kid shouldn’t be breaking seats but you can agree with your stewards abusing his powers

@M_watson___: Think every fanbase had the group of kids in the cp company drinking the dark fruits and acting solid. If hes smashing seats and hes been told to stop and carries on then force is probably needed. He probably wont understand is it will be snoop dog that pays to replace them

@jf_dcfc: Don’t rip seats out then? Hardly abusing their power if they’re doing their job

@phillowe1: Wouldn’t have said it was massive and if you cause damage to our ground you are getting ejected no matter the age,

@gabr1el_2525: Probably wouldn’t try and rip seats out

@PopsideFanatics: Kids? 😂 great parenting and to top it off, should have been slapped about for ripping seats out

@AndrewWoodman: Ripping up the seats wasn’t a wise move

@Countyram: Fuck around and find out

@EasingwoodBen: One watch of green street before the game?

@joshdraper28: Swansea HEADLOSS both in the away end and on Twitter is hilarious 🤣🤣 #dcfc
