A fight breaks out at Buxton v Gloucester as stewards struggle to control fans as can be seen in new footage uploaded onto social media.

The Bucks held on to all three points despite being under pressure in the second period of the National League North fixture.

The hosts led 2-0 at halftime, holding 67% of the ball. Goals from Jak McCourt and Brad Jackson made the difference in the Silverlands.

Tope Obadeyi scored a goal for Gloucester with 12 minutes remaining, but Buxton was able to hold on for the win.

POST MATCH INTERVIEW WITH CRAIG ELLIOTT:

Interviewer: Craig the form continues the 2-1 win here against Gloucester City the Silverlands, a game with two halves?

CE: Little bit yeah I mean um I’ve got to say first half but I think we were absolutely brilliant and probably the best places I’ve come in pressing the quality on the ball um disappointing to come in only till now I think we were worthy about at least three or four another half time, second half it becomes a bit scrappy I don’t think we were overly worked but yeah they come out a bit much stronger but I think overall we definitely deserve to win the gameย

Interviewer: First half performances, you could feel around the ground how excellent it was great having Warren Clarke back in front of the home fans today as well first half

CE: Yeah obviously I would aware that Tom and Warren got the 100th appearance today so congratulations to them that’s great in this Modern Age for two players to play that amount of appearances and both did really well and contribute to what was a really positive team performance and like I said the team talked about trying to get the fans on set getting chances getting on the front foot and they did that um and it were a really strong performance

Interviewer: Yeah and a lot of the second half wasn’t as flairy as the first half I think you said it a few weeks ago you know maybe we’d have lost that game a month ago or or could see it for a draw the greater determination to keep the lead, happy with that?

CE: Yeah definitely I think I think the big pleasing thing for me is players are coming in and they’ve been out of the team and contributing I thought it was brilliant today you know he’s been out on team um you know what I like him around the place he’s a top player and you know man of the match today really needed him to win some big headers andย  he did that um but other players are doing the same you know and it’s really good and it shows we’ve got a good team spirit we’re going in the right direction and there’s a really good bunch to sort of manage at the minute and the fixes keep on coming another

davemcchristie3: Picking on a 15 year old tough of ya

@MartinMjgh: What was it with the Gloucester fans and fruit in the first half though? 3 or 4 apples, pears and orange peel thrown on the pitch (and at officials/players) in the first half. Very strange… especially as the Gloucester fans we spoke to in the bar before the game were lovely!

@Richardwhitwor7: Didn’t see the fruit incident but we don’t need the scenes again like there were at the end of the game

@Sbuck16832118: They were throwing it at the linesman down the side opposite to the main stand,the steward I stand with went on the pitch at halftime to remove it all. Not sure what started the trouble at the end ,but you’re right it’s not needed at Non League Football;

@tomrosie85: one of the buxton fans punched a 13 year old i heard thatโ€™s how it all kicked off

@MartinMjgh: Have to say, the Gloucester fans we spoke to before the game were lovely. Real credit to the team. But of a shame about those who seemed to feel that throwing apples and pears on the pitch and at officials was an OK thing to do. Is it a Gloucester thing?

@MarkBucks66: Found it strange, food and cost of living crisis food , mustn’t effect them down South, yep a couple who I spoke to during 1st half was sound, what happened at end, av some on film .
