FC Halifax Town managed to make an awkward announcement gaffe as they sign one particular ex-Partick Thistle striker on Thursday.
The Shayman proudly revealed that they have captured Lewis Mansell on a short-term loan however failed to notice that one fact they included about their new recruit was a joke.
The National League outfit confirmed they had signed the 23-year-old in a statement published on the club’s website, saying that Mansell had been voted into the Scottish Championship team of the season… something he didn’t exactly deserve.
Partick Thistle Football Club can confirm that Lewis Mansell has left the club by mutual consent.
Lewis leaves with the thanks of everyone at Partick Thistle and with our best wishes for his future in the game.

The Accrington Stanley forward scored just two goals in 22 games for his former club last term before being released at the end of the season following a underwhelming spell during his time at Firhill.
The SPFL asked supporters to vote for their Championship team of the year on Twitter last summer, the ballot was then hijacked by Partick Thistle fans so they could jokingly get Mansell a place within it.
