Favourites for Yeovil Town manager – includes three bosses sacked this season

After Darren Way got the boot from Yeovil Town following their 2-0 defeat to MK Dons at the weekend, we’ve taken a look at who are favourites for the job at Huish Park.

The result meant that has left them 22nd in League Two table and just two points above the relegation zone.

Take a look at who are the top six favourites below and on the next page.

6) KEVIN NOLAN

Kevin Nolan was recently linked with a return to Notts County, the club he was sacked at in August, and he was reportedly keen to re-join them too. However the club opted for Neal Ardley instead.

The former Bolton, Newcastle, West Ham player took Notts to the League Two playoffs last season. However, the manager was shown the door after they picked up one point in five league matches.

Nolan was also player-manager for Leyton Orient in 2016. His team won three of the four league games in his first full month of management. He was nominated for February’s manager of the month award. On 12 April 2016, with the team two points off the playoffs, Nolan was relieved of his duties as manager, the role given to Andy Hessenthaler.

Chris Powell has been without a job for just a day after he was sacked at Southend United.

He took the club to 20th in the table and were only outside the relegation places on goal difference due to a run of 11 games without a win.

“The results over a number of weeks has impacted all concerned and immediate changes needed to be made,” said a club statement.

He has previously managed Huddersfield and Charlton as well as be a caretaker at Derby and Leicester.

Powell also had a playing career, playing as a left back for Crystal Palace, Aldershot, Southend, Derby, Charlton, West Ham, Watford and Leicester.

As a manager, he won League One with the Addicks in 2011–12, was League One Manager of the Month in November 2011, January 2012, February 2012 and was named League Managers Association League One Manager of the Year also in 2011–12.
