Fans urge Peterborough United to keep their current crest as the club confirms plans to change their brand over the next 18 months.
The Posh say they have made the decision to undergo a brand evolution, starting with a supporter survey to gather fan input, which is a common practice for clubs looking to modernise or rebrand their image.
But it seems these plans haven’t gone down very well, with many saying to the club ‘if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it’, and to instead use the money on ‘sorting the team out’.
𤊠Peterborough United will undertake a brand evolution over the next 18 months. The first, and most important, step in this process is our supporter survey.

CLUB STATEMENT:
The Club would like to inform supporters we are to undertake a brand evolution over the next 18 months which will see us launch a new identity including a new club crest.
As a Club we are always looking to improve and progress, both on and off the pitch. One area we have identified which could be improved is our brand identity.
The Club will be looking to develop a new crest, a number of sub brands as well as a unique font and various other elements which will bring us up to date with the leading football clubs in the country.
As the Club looks to continue our digital transformation, we believe this is a really important and exciting project.
Whilst the current brand has served us well, we believe there is room for improvement, and we would like to start this brand identity development process by getting supporters insight and input on the current design of our crest.
Head of Media & Marketing Clive Edwards said: âWe believe now is the right time to look at a brand identity for the football club which will serve us for the future.
âWe have a massively valuable brand, in a world of Unitedâs, Cityâs and Townâs it doesnât matter where you go in the world if you mention Peterborough, people think Posh. Leveraging that brand value in all its formats is massively important for the Club.
âWe are partnering with football branding experts who will, alongside consultation with our fans, help us to shape a brand evolution we can all be proud of.â
The start of the process is our Supporter Opinion Survey.
Obtaining the opinions of our supporters is a vital part of this process, if not the most important, and we appreciate your participation.
The survey contains 14 questions and should not take more than five minutes to complete. Weâd urge supporters to answer each question thoughtfully and honestly and help us shape our brand identity for the future.
We will update supporters in due course with further events and milestones in this project.
Fans urge Peterborough United to keep the current crest as the League One club confirms plans to change brand…
@lollujo: We have one of the best badges in football. It doesnât need to change.
@AVFCDaniel: Liquidate please
@Tobyypufc: Donât change the badge ffs
@gwandaddy: Sack whoever even suggested changing the badge. Disgraceful and doubt theyâve consulted any of the fan base about the idea of changing it
@GazzaWilliams: How about we concentrate on staying in the league first
@Nige1Chapman: Not the first time the club has marched into a decision and met a backlash. It was big enough to backtrack previously đ¤đť How has the bond money been used? Don’t get me wrong, I’m pleased its promised returns are on track. Just seems the projects aren’t? @theposhmarketer @DMAC102
@EmeraldPosh: Is there a point in filling out this survey? Feels like the priority points survey all over again, what was the results for that again?
@roby_teed: Current badge one of the best around already, no need to change, look at what’s happened to other clubs crests
@jfgpufc: Donât change the badge lads
@PufcMatchworn: Literally nothing wrong with our badge, feel there are other things that are more of a priority for the club at the moment. Ground upgrades/Facilities might be a good start
@PufcNathan: Just sign a centre half lads
@ciangilmore_: Keep the current badge đ
@joshwood93: Feel like this isnât top priority right now. Plenty of improvements to be made elsewhere before this.
@ANDYCHAPMAN67: I hope you read the room @DMAC102, the fans don’t want a change to the club crest!
@Markito_1989_: I think you have your answer on this one. We have our identity, there isn’t a thing wrong with that badge. It’s one of the best around imo. We will always follow this club, even in a season like this but please don’t piss around with our identity. This is Posh, We are Posh!
@Loatesy95: What a waste of everyoneâs time and money. Leave it alone and do something more useful like sorting toilets in LRE.
@JLUTJPL: Can the new crest play CB?
@McEwen1171: New owner, new badge, new ground. In that order.
@JLUTJPL: I wouldnât want a new crest, just keep the current and/or make use of older ones too if theyâre so fussed about changing things up
@Storrinho: Donât change it. You wonât improve it.
@boro_cmon: Your doing a Cambridge donât piss the fans off anymore after the season weâve had
@milkman61454448: leave our badge alone
@Barwell34: Please don’t change the club badge! Up The Posh â˝ď¸
@Ben_Horrocks: DONT CHANGE THE BADGE
@BenPUFCx: donât you dare
@TriggerPosh: My answer to all the survey questions is sign some defenders. Cheers.
@PufcSimmo14: Dont need a new badge ffs

@jacobcr27518800: Donât need a new badge need a new defence for Christ sake

Donât change something what isnât broken #PUFC
@Dan264: Absolutely no need to change the crest. If it ainât broke you donât need to fix it!
@b4ilrt: Fix the team not the badge.
@Tom_Som08: Not even a posh fan. This feels like a major own goal @DMAC102
@MattPUFC1934: Keep the current badge nothing wrong with it
@Bencook101_: Give your heads a wobble.
@campufc: this has got to be the worst season on and off the pitch in modern history ffs
@PeterScholes55:

@alyn_line: Leave the badge alone @theposh đ
@MrBenEustace: Yep, cause this is the biggest problem we have right now. Nothing wrong with our badge.
