Fans tell Sutton United to stop with their ‘cringe’ social media posts talking to members of public about upcoming opponents.

It’s all in a bid so that people will tap on the video, which directs them to the ticket section of the club website.

They posted as many as five clips in days leading up to their first home league game of the season against Altrincham, as they return to life back in the National League.

They ask member of the public on a busy street such questions – “what Altrincham’s badge looks like”, “Where Altrincham is”, “how to pronounce Altrincham”, “Name the 9 teams from Greater Manchester who play in the Premier League down to the National League” and “Where Phil Foden comes from”.

The more they’ve posted these videos, the more fans have urged the club to stop with them, but what do you think of them? Harmless fun engaging with the community, or something Sutton United shouldn’t do anymore going forward?
