Fans stunned as four goals scored in stoppage time with it at 0-0 after 89 mins of Folkestone v Wingate

Fans were left stunned as four goals were scored in stoppage time with it at 0-0 after 89 mins of Folkestone Invicta’s match against Wingate & Finchley yesterday.

It looked as though the Isthmian League match was going to end goalless but supporters inside the ground couldn’t have expected what was about to happen.

A minimum of six minutes were added on when the scoreline was at 0-0 and Wingate were already one man short after Ahmet Rifat was sent off earlier in the second half.

Folkestone were given a penalty on the 90th minute, which was scored by Ian Draycott, many assuming that would probably be it, however that was only the beginning of the madness.

The 97th minute saw Ade Yusuff make it 2-0 to the hosts shortly after when he found the net from the edge of the box.

Game over? No chance…

Two goals in the 101st minute from Anthony Mendy and Alieu Njie saw Wingate somehow get a point after being 2-0 down minutes before.

And to clear up why there was even more time added in stoppage time…

The late goals caused a huge amount of social media reaction, making both clubs involved in yesterday’s game to go viral – take a look at what they had to say on the next page.
