Fans slam Eni Aluko as talkSPORT ended up having to delete a video of her bizarre take on the Declan Rice and Man City speculation.
She questioned the intentions behind Man City’s £90m bid for Declan Rice, and it’s fair to say this is quite the take.
Manchester City’s £90m bid has been turned down by West Ham with the Premier League champions offering £80m up front, plus £10m in add-ons.
Arsenal remain in talks with the Hammers after two club-record bids were rejected, and are expecting a third bid from the Gunners.
TalkSport have since deleted the tweet but yes, here’s Eni Aluko seriously suggested multi-title winning Pep Guardiola submitted a £90m bid for Declan Rice just “to help out” his mate Arteta.
Has to be the worst pundit ever seen. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/vC9aEnWRK7

Eni Aluko said: I think there’s a lot of cat and mouse going on here. As a sporting director, I used to do this a lot. So I used to call up a club, big club, and say, right, can you put in a bid in? And that would get my owner to basically put a higher bid in. It’s a bit like an auction, isn’t it? I don’t think Manchester City actually want to sign Declan Rice. I think what’s going on here is Arteta’s picked up the phone to Pep, said, Listen, you know, Arsenal are going to do the sort of increment mental bid approach. If you put a higher bid in, that will push my owner to… I think there’s a bit of that going on here.
Laura Woods: What, for speed then? They just want it to happen quicker?
EA: Not for speed. But to get the deal done, because West Ham obviously want a certain valuation. I think I read £120m.
Ally McCoist: Why don’t Arsenal just go and pay it?
EA: This is the thing, I don’t know why Arsenal are doing this incremental approach, but it says to me that Man City coming in sort of later on.It feel feels like they’re trying to it’s going to help Arsenal because the fans are going to get on it now and say, hold on a second. Declan Rice. If you let Declan Rice go to Man City when he was our number one target, that says a lot about Arsenal. So I think there’s a bit of that going on. I used to do it all the time and it used to work.
As mentioned, Eni Aluko was in a Twitter storm as talkSPORT delete a video of her views on Declan Rice and Man City…

@Thisisunited99: so if Pep accidently ends up signing him has he went behind Arteta’s back? what nonsense!
@rpoore1882: Wow does she actually believe this?! Another L for TalkSPORT giving people like Aluko airtime
@Joelmaxi1998: Whats she on about her
@shaan_s1: What on earth is this
@YSLRNUFC: Wow this is absolutely ridiculous 🤡

@goli21543714: Christ, you really don’t help yourself with some people on your show

@toplad198: That’s probably why she’s not a sporting director anymore

@potatoesgonnap1: Strange insinuation.
@bridgeymcfc: Is this women for real..Jesus!! Punditry at its best..
@tlhalefo911: I’m embarrassed on her behalf. WTF is she saying
@PrinceOfTheE: Wtf have I just heard

@adam_d_01: Talking bollocks as usual
@Johnny73715497: Wouldn’t this be illegal?
@adbtlr: Yes, because pep will be able to tell the owners to bid for a player he doesn’t really want so a rival can sign him. Why does she get air time? Has to be the worst pundit going.
@GaryMillsy: What on earth is she taking about? Why would City want to help Arsenal ?
@WeareManC1ty: She actually gets paid for her opinion, have you ever heard so much 💩 talk. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 #Mcfc #Afc
@xMaccaEFC: Just so I’ve got this right, the manager of the team who finished 2nd has rung up the manager who finished 1st an won the treble to put a bid in for a player that the team in 2nd wants so it makes his own owners get a deal done? I’m fucking speechless 😂😂
@DavidSm04713543: Aye peps got loads of spare time on his hands to help his bro out 😂 No bother Arteta mate ill do that for ya 😂
@lydiaaacoxson: Let me just bell my mate Sheikh Mansour to send over 90 million quid, no bother
@SuperstarDJHWG:
So what happens if Rice accepts the City bid🤷🏻♂️
Do they pull out and say we only did it to help Arsenal 🤣
Absolute codswallop
@donsteviee: Who hires these people to talk 😂😂 Imagine City and Pep doing a favour for their main title rivals last season. I don’t care if you’re an ex pro, making such bizarre assumptions and accusations on national radio is crazy.
@thatchersend: Surely getting another club to engage in a bidding war with you only pushes the price up for the player because there is a demand? She might be right, I’ve never been a sporting director but it does sound stupid right?
@nth09: She’s actually admitted that she has done this, driving up the price her own owner would have to pay to get the player. That’s a sacking offence!
@Ricky9Forbes: What. Pep if she knew what she was talking about has zero to do with bidding the guy is on holiday on a big boat 🚤 sun, cocktails, wine, and toys. Why in any world would he tell a Sheik to put a bid in for Rice so his rival can sign a very good player hahahaahahaha WTF.
@rickwhufc: “As a sporting director I used to do it all the time” – So you used to call a club, convince them to make a phantom bid to make your chairman bid MORE money than they would’ve had to have paid? You cost your club money? Why exactly were you relieved of that job Eni?
@mccull41: What nonsense by her. What if West Ham accepted city’s bid? In her scenario city don’t want the player but bidding to help Arteta out? City would then pay 90m for someone they don’t want to help out another club? @talkSPORT what on earth is this all about? Is it April 1st again?
@skotto83: Even for Eni Aluko, this is bonkers
@Ted246_: TalkSPORT blocking replies shows the stupidity of this take. Eni Aluko has some very weird takes. Embarrassing.
@VillageTrundler: What is Eni Aluko talking about!? Why would Man City help a title rival sign a star midfielder?? Whatever she’s been putting on her cornflakes this morning, I’ll have some of that please! @TSBreakfast
@AKALouisCasper: Eni Aluko on talkSPORT reckons Arteta has rang Pep and told them to bid for Declan Rice so that they can put a higher bid in and complete the transfer 😬
@KiingJake_: Eni Aluko chatting absolute shite on TalkSPORT about Arteta asking Pep to bid for Rice so that the Arsenal owners will be serious 🤣
