Fans have chosen to mock a talkSPORT pundit for what he said about to their social media followers about Leeds United’s chances next season.
Michael Gray, a pundit for the radio station, has been criticised for tipping the West Yorkshire outfit to be one of the ‘surprise packages’ at the top end of the Premier League table come the end of the season.
The Whites ended their 16 year wait to win promotion back to the Premier League thanks to the ingenuity of Marcelo Bielsa.
? “There is one place left in the top 4 after Liverpool, City & Chelsea.”
? “Arsenal have strengthened, I don’t know if Spurs are strong enough.”

Marcelo Bielsa has got the Whites back in the big time following a 16 year absence, and they are ready to make sure they are back for good and not just a flying visit.
They’ve already splashed the cash to bring in the likes of Rodrigo, Robin Koch and Helder Costa (permanently) and they aren’t looking to stop there with many more stars linked including Ryan Kent and many more from overseas.
Will Bielsa-ball work in the Premier League? They played without pressure and made it hard work for Arsenal in the FA Cup last season, though there will be a lot for the boss to get used to.
Not only has he ‘despaired’ the press coverage whilst in the Championship, but also the top flight’s media and sponsor requirements which are a potential minefield for the Argentinian.
They are predicted to finish the highest (top 10) out of all the newly promoted clubs, with West Brom and Fulham the favourites for relegation.
And, whilst speaking on talkSPORT’s Sports Bar, former Sunderland player Micky Gray – who endured two separate loan spells at Leeds – insists Champions League football could well be on the way back to Elland Road if the Whites can continue their positive summer spending.
“Well, what I would say to you right now off the top of my head is – without even thinking – is there is one [Champions League] place left,” he told Sports Bar co-host Adam Catterall.
“Liverpool, City and Chelsea… and then there is one left.
“Arsenal have strengthened; they looked really, really good against Liverpool [in the Community Shield] and won the FA Cup where the played very well against Chelsea.
“Now, they are not going away, and I have said in the last couple of shows that Arsenal are chasing down that top four.
“Tottenham are getting stronger, I don’t if they are getting strong enough. Everton are going to be knocking on the door, I don’t think they are good enough to finish in the top four.
“And then you’re going to have the likes of Wolves, Leicester City and a couple of others.
“Watch out for Leeds United, I swear. They are going to be the surprise package.”
As mentioned, fans chose to mock the talkSPORT pundit for what he said about Leeds chances next season…
I’m not even going to reply to this.

Not a chance… be lucky to get out of bottom 4.
— Neil Sillett (@NeilSillett) September 3, 2020
Where are these people getting this from? ?. They’ve signed a striker who scored 4 goals in 30 appearances last season for loads of money and now they are gatecrashing the top 4? Hahahaha

I haven’t seen one Leeds fan actually think this
— James Cousins LUFC CHAMPIONS (@CuzLufc73) September 3, 2020
Totally agree. They’ve tweeted the same thing twice this morning and god knows how many times previous. For us Leeds fans it’s embarrassing
— Gaz (@gazLUFC4) September 3, 2020
Lazy journalism! Asked the same question yesterday got over a 1000 comments coz it’s Leeds so we’ll ask it again, and no we aren’t deluded we won’t be anywhere near top four. MOT

Yeah, I’m sure they’ll bounce back from that friendly defeat to stoke earlier this week and quite easily mix it with the prem elite pic.twitter.com/VpIx2rXl8M

Won the championship by 10 points? Played the best football in the championship for the past 2 seasons? Have an England international player despite only playing in the championship.

Norwich played better football than you the season they got promoted and look what happened to them.
Any talk of top 4 is laughable

Get out of Bielsa’s arse.
Took him 3 years to get Leeds promoted with the one of the best squads in the league every season. #OverHyped.— ??_? (@RHAVFC) September 2, 2020
Media’s attitude towards Leeds is ridiculous, 16 years out the Premier League, spent 3 seasons in league one yet they’re going to break into the top 4.

Thats the worst shout I have heard onere for ages.
Bottom 6 ?
— Blue Nose Bob ? (@CHICKEN1878) September 2, 2020
Erm, no chance and I’m a Leeds fan.

Apart from the odd game I think we’ll actually avoid heavy losses. Same story as parts of last season probably- not take enough chances and lose by the odd goal. Maybe a fair few draws. ?trend of getting points when we score first will continue to an extent! Top 6 no chance tho

It’s shit like this that has most fans of other clubs thinking it’s us Leeds fans getting carried away. If we’re anywhere above tenth it would massively exceed expectations. 10 – 15th it’ll be a good season. Staying up is the aim. Anything else is a bonus #lufc
— FTC Stereojax (@stereojacques) September 2, 2020
What a retarded question. Only 3 teams have ever finished in the top 4 since being promoted to the premier league & none since 1995. What makes Leeds better then the other 78 teams to go up & finish outside the top 4
— sean carrington (@seancarringto13) September 2, 2020
No,this is ridiculous…if we finish mid table id be well happy
— Adam Barlow (@AdamPaulBarlow) September 2, 2020
Leeds fans need to wake up. You have made it hard work getting promoted. Just because you are leeds doesn’t give you guaranteed top half never mind top 4. You could easily go down next year. Villa had as much history and status as leeds and they nearly went down!
