Fans have been left concerned as reporter Chris Kamara gives a health update with a photo of him from inside an oxygen chamber.
The 64 year old has issued a tweet to his followers, where he is receiving treatment for a medical condition which affects his speech.
Kammy, a former footballer player was forced to step down from his role on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday – where he cheers our Saturdays up providing updates from matches across the country – because of the condition.
Viewers became concerned when noticing he had started slurring his words during one live broadcast, before it prompted him to reveal he has a thyroid condition which has now caused apraxia.
While he has stepped down from Sky reporting duties, he continues to not let his speech problem get the better of him as he was co-commentating on ITV’s The Games this week.
He wrote on Twitter: ‘Six enjoyable days working on The Games. Back in the oxygen chamber today as the recovery continues.’

At first, he feared that the condition had been brought on by repetitive heading of the football during playing days, but it turns out the speech impediment is caused by an underactive thyroid gland.
Last month he said his treatment was helping him, and when announcing his exit from Sky Sports after 24 years, Kamara said: ‘My long career at Sky Sports has never felt like work. I’ve spent 24 terrific years at Sky, and leave with the best of memories.
‘My time on Soccer AM, Goals on Sunday and, of course, on Soccer Saturday with Jeff has been – to coin a phrase – unbelievable.
‘I’ve had the time of my life, and look forward to tuning in every Saturday as a fan.’
“Kammy is a genius and absolute genius,” Stelling said in the announcement to viewers, before Merson paid his own tribute. “For all of the funny bits, his knowledge of football is second to none.
“What a bloke. He knows his football, he loves his football. People will look at him and think he’s just funny, but his knowledge of football is scary. You could sit down with him and he knew absolutely everything. He’ll be sorely missed.”
Stelling continued: “He was always immaculately prepared, within football he is so well regarded for his knowledge of the game. And can I just say from my point of view that it’s been a privilege to work with Kammy for so long and he’s been a key part of the Soccer Saturday success.
“His warmth, his energy, his humour, his ability to miss red cards. Nobody worked harder and he still will work hard. You’ll still see him on your TV screens, but not on our show. He’s a good man, one of the very best. A great friend and I will miss him enormously and I know you will at home as well. Good luck Kammy!”
