Fans arrange to fight each other over Preston signing Ched Evans

Fans decided to arrange a fight with each other over Preston signing Ched Evans just hours not long after the deal was confirmed.

It proved to be a controversial deal with a tirade of anger coming from the Lilywhites fanbase across their social media platforms on Wednesday.

Many hit out at the club for choosing to sign the player from a League One club on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Alex Neil’s side currently sit 12 in the Championship table, taking a total of 32 points from 23 games played.

Ched Evans is on loan from Fleetwood, after Joey Barton wanted to get rid of him for his comedy act which left the boss and other unamused.

Joey Barton left the club earlier this week and was immediate put as favourite for the Sheffield Wednesday job after an impressive spell with the Cod Army.

However there were some who thought it was best to wish him luck and to give him at least a chance of being able to produce goals.

As one journalist tweeted on the news, one fan had an opinion on that matter before clashing with another supporter who didn’t accept what he had to say.

Mooney7 @1880Hoops went on a rant with a series of tweets reading: “Get that hashtag trending. #wesaynotochedevans.

“The #chedevans sega with @pnefc is a disgrace. Embarrassing. If fans were present, u’d know just how disgusted we were.

“If signed u won’t get another penny from the 6 of us till the scumbag is gone. How, can we stoop this low? Fuck you North End. #WeSayNoToChedEvans

“Owen Oyston’s case was far sketchier than Evans’. It just shows. All those years we held a higher moral ground. I am talking now of his moral depravity not a legal pardon. This scumbag should not be allowed. Fuck you @pnefc. Fuck you.”

His how has now been deleted along with many other tweets that he posted, however if caused enough drama that a fight was arranged over the signing.

The pair agreed on meeting at 2:30pm at Moor Park north of the city centre of Preston, quite unbelievable right, over a six-month loan deal.

Mooney7 wrote to the guy he was suppose to fight with: “Tried to DM you mate, but hasn’t worked. Just to say I might be a little earlier if it works for you. But will stay till half past regardless.

“I can deliver the message in three languages too.”

@gazeagy, the other guy, replied: “Sound nice car and a clever lad give yourself a star.”

Mooney7 said: “Is that you in the pink robin reliant?”

Gaz tweeted along with a photo: “No black q7”

Mooney7 said: Call it 14:30. I’ll be in the black and gold Audi Q7, with black leather heated seats, a private reg and TV’s for all the back seats.

In the end, it turns out that Mooney7 failed to turn up and then subsequently deleted his account altogether.

Speaking to iFollow PNE after putting pen to paper on the deal, Ched said: “I’m really excited for the next six months, getting back to the Championship is brilliant, I’m really pleased for the opportunity and I’m looking to kick on for the next six months.

“It was about pushing on for the rest of the season, making some signings in this window to boost the squad and it’s just pushing on for the next six months which is the business end of the season. I’m really pleased to be here, the facilities and everything are brilliant and Preston is a club in a great position at the moment to kick on for the rest of the season.

On what he can bring to the side, 32-year-old continued: “If the chances are created I will definitely be trying to get on the end of them, there are some great players here and it’s a team that scores goals and I’m just really looking forward to the next six months and getting some goals, creating some goals and getting some wins and pushing Preston up the table.

“With the other players creating chances and scoring goals and getting chances, it breeds confidence so in regards to coming here, I’m playing at a good level with really good players and so I’m looking forward to the next six months and cracking on.”

Evans will be unavailable for this weekend’s FA Cup tie against Wycombe Wanderers but he feels the period between now and his first opportunity to play will be beneficial to him.

“I will be cup-tied for the game against Wycombe but it will give me some time to get some running in my legs and get some good training sessions in and be ready to kick on against Bristol City in the next league game.

“It will be like a mini pre-season effectively, although I’ve been keeping myself fit, it’s about building relationships with players, getting to know the lads, it’s a new club so getting to know everybody’s names and things like that. Once the time does come to put the shirt on you’ll be ready for it so it will be a good ten days to get going.”

Twitter users couldn’t help but react as the fans arrange to fight each other over Preston signing Ched Evans…
