Fans and players raise thousands for a Norwich fan’s fundraiser after they saw he was being bullied on social media over his appearance.
A video surfaced on Twitter, with the Canaries supporter Nathan West giving an interview with The Pinkun, leading up to his club’s Championship fixture with Millwall on Sunday.
However, the abuse that was posted in the comments section of the post led to a huge amount of supportive messages complimented Mr West on his passion and knowledge.

Among those is Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn, who donated to a fundraising page set up by the fan planning to take part in a charity challenge this autumn.
In October, ‘Westy’ will run the Tonbridge half marathon in Kent for Macmillan Cancer Support, and in less than 24 hours, he has gonme from £400 to over £35,000.
In his donation page, he says: “I am going to run my first half Marathon in Tonbridge Kent the Half marathon of two half’s going to be a challenge but I am training hard for it. Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
“Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe, JustGiving – they’ll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs.”
After seeing the messages of support, Westy said: “Unbelievable, I am gobsmacked different football teams supporters been reading the messages. I can’t thank you ernough for your share on Twitter.”
Wembley Stadium have also got in contact, offering him tickets to an England match of his choice, while Norwich also confirmed that he will be their “community hero” for an upcoming game at Carrow Road.
Canaries winger Jonathan Rowe, who Nathan West correctly predicted to score in his interview with The Pinkun, also messaged the fan to let him know that he’d soon be sending over a signed shirt.
“Big up yourself for doing this interview Westy! Takes a lot of courage to express your opinions in front of a camera,” Rowe wrote.
“I’m happy you predicted me to score again. I look forward to more predictions from you. You’re the man, 100 %. I’m gonna sign a shirt and send it to you.”

Here’s how social media users reacted as fans and players raise thousands for a Norwich fan’s fundraiser after being bullied online…
@HLTCO: Top man. Watching his team and having the balls to go in front of a camera to give his perspective, something you can guarantee 99% of the trolls in the comments wouldn’t back the
@ellis_platten: The fundraiser is flying. What a legend. It takes balls to get in front of a camera in the first place. Amazing that it turns out he’s a proper stand up guy too.
@nickbriggs72: Why oh why are people having a go at this lad, terrible attitude from those poking fun at him. He loves his team Let him be, sure some of those who are handing out the bad comments couldn’t put 2 sentences together for a video interview.
@louorns: Fair play to this fella for having the bollocks to go on camera and say his opinion. Keep it up brother
@TheIrishMagpie: If only all football fans were as wholesome as this young chap. Good on him! 😁
@afcb_r0b: Good on you lad. Enjoy your football. And look after Jack Stacey for us, he’s a good ‘un.
@Toon_TaIk: Top man Westy! Far braver than I am to get in front of the camera and give my footballing opinions. Good luck to Norwich this season. Great club and hope to see you guys back in the Premier League soon. We’ll all be supporting you as you take on Sunderland on the 28th, give them a hiding will ya 😉
@RP_Field: Takes huge ⚽️ ⚽️ to go on TV and talk football, Predictable that some knuckle draggers would be out in force. Absolutely love the response from most. He was spot on btw and knows his club. Legend. And clearly a top bloke as well.
@cfctraviss: a shame about the comments seems like a top bloke wish him all the best
@andysfootyshirt: Great interview pal. Keep on loving the footy!!!! Don’t let any tossers take your passion away.
@PhilipPelucha: Have a great season, Westy. Takes balls to do an interview like that, I still get nervous to this day when being interviewed. Good insights too, I can think of several commentators that you can replace!
@danthepromoter: Norwich spanked us yesterday, but this is the one Norwich fan I’d happily buy a beer anyway. Good on ya bud.
@tacticaljude: fair play to the lad, clearly knows his football + loves supporting his team through and through. for those in the comments, let the lad be, honestly I doubt 75% could go on TV and speak comfortably and intelligently about football. you’re the man westy!🐐
@ThreadmanChaza: Well done for standing in front of the camera and speaking well. I’d like to see those who are abusing the lad step up in front of the camera and give their thoughts. Oh wait, they’d never do it because they haven’t got the guts this lad has. Keep going champ.
@michaelttfw: Seems like a genuine guy and a good interview. Good vibes… which is more than can be said for the majority on this platform. Good win for Norwich too 👏🏼
@toonpete85: What a great interview and a top bloke as well, hope he enjoyed the win and all the best to him! 💪
@SayersBHAFC: What a lad, chatting about the club he loves. I hope he enjoyed his day ❤️
@aclr1972: I’m glad that he can enjoy his football. Decent and amiable bloke. Any critical or nasty comment defines the sender, not the target.
