FA Cup Second Round sees some surprise upsets with the Third Round ball numbers revealed ahead of Monday night’s much anticipated draw.
There will be at four non league sides in the hat with Boreham Wood still to play host to St Albans City on Monday night.
The third round is one that everyone has their eyes on as it sees the teams from the Premier League and Championship enter the tournament and some of the lower league sides will be hoping for a plum tie that offers them a chance of a giant-killing.
So far this second round weekend there have not been any major shocks though it’s not to say there haven’t been any with, a number of League Two sides springing surprise wins over teams from a tier above.
Nigel Clough’s Mansfield Town won 3-2 at managerless Doncaster Rovers whilst Port Vale knocked out Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink’s Burton Albion.
Other shocks / cupsets saw Hartlepool United from League Two dump League One’s Lincoln City out whilst Harrogate Town went to 2008 winners Portsmouth and came away 2-1 victors.

The only replay on the cards so far will see Barrow play host to Ipswich Town, who sacked their manager, after a goalless draw at Portman Road on Saturday.
Yeovil Town of the National League managed to knock out League Two strugglers Stevenage out of the FA Cup.
Charlie Wakefield’s driven finish early in the second half was enough to give Darren Sarll a victory against his former side and put the Glovers into the hat for the third round.
“You have to enjoy every win because in the blink of an eye that feeling is gone,” he said.
“It’s extra special that it’s against my old club and we will take whatever comes now. It will be exciting to see what comes out of the hat.”
Third round fixtures are scheduled to take place between Friday the 7th of January and Monday the 10th of January, 2022
Clubs that successfully advance through to the third round will pick up Β£82,000 from the competition’s prize fund.
