Ezri Konsa calls Jacob Ramsey a ‘tw*t’ after hearing him say “it’s only Conference League”

Ezri Konsa calls Jacob Ramsey a ‘tw*t’ after hearing him say “it’s only Conference League” during celebrations from Aston Villa fans.

Jacob Ramsey was captured on Douglas Luiz’s video questioning the joyous celebrations and impressive turnout Aston Villa fans following their qualification to the Europa Conference League.

Villa defeated Brighton 2-1 in the Premier League to qualify for the Europa Conference League. This was the first time since 13 years that they had qualified for Europe.

Ezri Konsa, the Villa defender, saw all the fans cheering their team as the bus left Villa Park. But after hearing what Ramsey had to say, he told him off.

As Konsa filmed the supporters, Ramsey could be heard in the background saying: “The f**k? It’s only the Conference.” to which Konsa stepped in to tell him off: “Shut up JJ man, have some respect.”

Goals from Douglas Luiz and Ollie Watkins help Unai Emery’s side to secure a place in next season’s Europa Conference League ahead of Tottenham and Brentford

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery to MOTD: “I am very proud of the players’ work, I have been very demanding and they have responded very well. At Villa Park our supporters have been very necessary for our work, our project – they were here with us today supporting us.

“Everyone is very happy with this step. Today was our moment. We have an ambitious objective, we are trying to build a strong spirit and a structure. We have time to work more next year and we have one more competition to play, it is an another option for a trophy.

“I want it. I have played in Europe for 15 years and it is fantastic to have it.”

Midfielder Jacob Ramsey: “It’s unbelievable, when I woke up on my birthday this morning this is all I wanted. Two assists, three points and European football again.

“It’s tough to put a finger on what the manager has changed. We had talent in the squad but since he came in he has put his foot down and put pressure on us. They have brought in their own identity and style of play.”

Aston Villa captain John McGinn: “I was here in the Championship and the owners had a plan and ambition and we have got there the hard way.

“Brighton are a really good team, we just had to stay patient. The fans believed and stayed with us. The manager is a bit mad but he’s brilliant, hopefully he stays for a few years and we make more memories.

“Look at this [Villa Park], this is brilliant. Everyone wants to be a part of Aston Villa. Hopefully players that do will see this and want to come.

“The club has no ceiling, we’ve got a long waiting list for season tickets but now it’s time for a beer.”

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery: “Good evening, I am very proud. These players have really followed me for the last six months, it has been demanding and we are committed.

“We finished perfectly in the last six matches at home, we beat a very good team and to achieve the European place is the best possible end. We will be in Europe which for me is very important. It has given me a lot, it is fantastic, another way and another trophy at the end.

“I am very thankful for every supporter. Historically this is a great team, we won the European Cup, a long time ago but we can now try to improve and get an ambitious step ahead. This is the first step.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is next to talk to the Villa Park faithful and says: “Our success is with you and you are very important and I want to thank all of you.

“You have to have belief in your work and our process. This is just the first step and I’m very happy.”

Here’s what fans are saying as Ezri Konsa calls Jacob Ramsey a ‘tw*t’ after hearing him say “it’s only Conference League”…

@DeanoM359: I don’t think he’s had a pop at any one. Sounds to me like he can’t believe the turn out. Only conference….what would it be like if we win something!!

@edwards2779: Bit disappointing to hear him say this tbh

@jack_seabrook1: Fucking hell, then villa fans been knocking the conference all season, for them to have a whole turnout for it! 😂⚒️

@Lucky29Luke: Aston Villa’s star boy just destroyed his own fans “it’s only conference” 😂😂😂 small club, small fans, celebrating like they won the league, off to Albania to play farmers on a Thursday

@KCoco00: Is he wrong? No… it’s a waste of a competition… all you get for winning ECL is EL qualification 🤣 isn’t it just easier to focus on the season and finish 5/6th 🤣🤣

@sideboard_billy: Villa players disrespecting their own achievements.

@BuendiaSZN: Everyone’s criticising JJ but it just means he’s astonished by our support, also he is just as happy about this as you all are, he’s an Aston Villa fan

@suavest29: Nah konsa was spitting facts😂😂

@LennanTomlins: I’ve seen a few Villa fans get on Ramsey for this. To me, it’s definitely said as a joke, and more in surprise of how much support there was outside of Villa Park pre-match. I’m sure he’ll be happy to have achieved European football with us. #AVFC

@TheLawless: Had so many fans knock the conference league, including Villa fans & look what it means to them. We didn’t even do this when we qualified for the Europa League. Konsa is right though Ramsey is a twat, he hasn’t played a second of European football & has the cheek to knock it

@bobbyjones007: “The fuck man, it’s only Conference” 😂

@danspencerddd: Ramsay with big club mentality…

@SeanAvfc: 🤣🤣 don’t know why fans are crying about this

@DaveSherlock3: 😬 awkward

@JJ15_AV: I can’t get over konsa calling Ramsey a twat 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
