‘Embarrassing’ – Videos of goading Reading-Stevenage and Swindon-Cheltenham fans emerge on social media at the weekend.

Both clips were uploaded onto the Football Fights account on Twitter with them going on to getting millions of views and hundreds of comments.

Supporters of both Swindon and Cheltenham reportedly clashed at the junction of Wellington Street and Manchester Road, requiring police intervention to separate the groups near Swindon Railway Station.

Footage of the altercation, showing fans singing and confronting each other as officers shouted for them to disperse.

Local reactions, as reported by outlets like the Swindon Advertiser and Wiltshire Times, ranged from mockery to fists being thrown.

Some described it as a minor scuffle involving mostly younger fans “kids getting leery and some handbags,” with others calling for lifetime bans. The League Two fixture itself was dramatic, with Swindon fighting back from being 3-1 down to draw 3-3, aided by a red card to Cheltenham’s Tom Bradbury and late goals from Kabongo Tshimanga and Ollie Clarke.

Then another clip emerged online, with it getting over 2 million views and counting, showing Reading and Stevenage fans involved.

League One playoff chasers Reading could only draw 1-1 at home to Stevenage but still extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches.

The Royals went ahead four minutes into the second half through an own goal by defender Carl Piergianni, who also then subsequently made up for his error by levelling the scoreline 11 minutes later, also from a header.
