‘Eight pints’ deep Jamie Carragher ‘slurs’ his words during hilarious interview with Jadon Sancho

An ‘eight pints’ deep Jamie Carragher ‘slurs’ his words during a hilarious post-match interview with Jadon Sancho after Dortmund v PSG.

During his appearance as a pundit for CBS Sports, Jamie Carragher had a night to remember, joining fans in the iconic Yellow Wall at Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday night as Borussia Dortmund won 1-0 against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League fixture.

Carragher was heavily involved when it came to getting to know the local culture, sinking pints with Dortmund fans.

He said before the game: “We’re at the Signal Iduna Park with the Dortmund fans. They absolutely adore me!

“Let’s get a picture… and I’m going to get a pint to cool me down, to calm my nerves down for the big game.”

Jadon Sancho, currently on loan from Manchester United, delivered an outstanding performance and was named the man of the match, while Niclas Fullkrug scored the only goal of the game.

Following the game, Carragher engaged in a conversation with CBS Sports alongside Peter Schmeichel, and openly admitted that he may have consumed a few too many drinks.

However, before the interview commenced, Carragher, who had been seen downing pints outside the stadium, had to address concerns raised by CBS Sports host Kate Abdo regarding how sober he was.

He replied: “You know what, that is a fair point because I haven’t had too much to eat. I’ve had a cheeseburger at about half two.

“It might explain why I am slurring my words. I’ve had about eight pints in the Yellow Wall! I’ve got a new family, a family of friends, we all look after each other, I gave them a few bob after half time.”

Carragher then managed to find and talk to Sancho, who was stuck in between Carra and Schmeichel, and you could just see how overwhelmed by the situation Sancho found himself in.

In the studio, Thierry Henry reacted to what he was seeing by having his head in his hands while Micah Richards was amazed by it all, saying: “He’s got his arm around him!”

Carragher put his hand on Sancho’s shoulder, and spoke at length about his eye-opening experience with the Dortmund fans.

Carragher: “Tonight, I was in the Yellow Wall. The great thing about the Yellow Wall is the atmosphere. It is not the best view in the world, I thought you played well.

“But Thierry Henry, Alessandro Del Piero and Micah Richards are in the studio and they have been absolutely raving about your performance.”

Sancho: “I appreciate it but it is not over. We still have got to go to Paris and hopefully we can get the job done, I appreciate the comments and hopefully we can carry on.”

Carragher: “Jadon, if you get to the final, can we have a few pints together?”

Sancho: “I don’t drink,” before shaking hands and making a quick getaway.

This is how fans reacted to an ‘eight pints’ deep Jamie Carragher as he ‘slurs’ his words during a hilarious interview with Jadon Sancho…

@HamImages: Funny is, if you take a sip of beer every time Carragher says “yellow wall” you get as drunk as he is.

@sturge198: I hate that I like @Carra23 🤣🤣

@MellettJ: hahaha that is brilliant, imagine him doing that on sky sports there’d be a meltdown 🤣

@danjbroad: He’s hammered 😂😂 can we get a counter on how many times he touched is shoulder

@cainsmithMU: This is absolutely phenomenal from Carragher. Drunken pundit interviewing players has gotta become a regular thing surely

@neilkirkham10: Fair play to @Carra23 here, half cut and still makes sure Sancho has his microphone close to mouth 🤣🤣🍻🍻

@Salahrnold: Meanwhile in the UK we have to listen to Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen drivel on ffs 🤣

@NathanWills96: The state of Carra 😂😂😂😂

@SAFC_CallumR: Unbelievable this 🤣 CBS carrying the pundit scene atm.

@KirkMagic:  Carragher hammered on TV last night 😂😂😂

@dalemckinnon8: The hug at the end, that over aggressive squeeze from your uncle you’ve only met once before

@johdumble: This is the exact sort of behaviour you’d expect from a man whose side has crashed out of the title race… Not a care in the world. Immediately much more likeable now.

@CamAnderson_21: Absolute gold! 🤣💛

@1NilArsenal:
Two lessons:
1) Avoid Scousers after 8 pints.
2) In times of difficulty, always go back to the tribe that first believed in you.

@WH_Unofficial: Superb how they’ve let him do this interview hammered – would never happen on sky 🤣🤣

@maximumbbk: Jamie’s steaming 😂😂😂😂😂😂

@Churchi79: TV Gold 💛🖤

@NLondonForever: You don’t see someone enjoying themselves like this these days. I wonder how the politically correct driven agenda reacts. @carra23 was happy and friendly. And the repetition was amusing.

@ZakJMUFC: This is one of the best interviews I’ve seen 😂😂😂

@chrissywhelan: Mans pissed at work, living the dream 🤌🏼🤣

@BfDeano: When Sky are sacking all the white men, CBS has Carragher pissed on live tv 😂 quality

@Robster36: Did anyone get on to the fact that he’s been on the yellow wall 🤔

@BellsyNUFC: Look how Carra is here, then watch him on sky this weekend and see a complete change, mainly die to Jamie being sober (hopefully) but CBS looks so much fun and on sky its reliant on scripts and you rarely see pundits personalities.

@bfunkmo: This is 10/10. There’s such a distinct difference between carra for CBS and Carra for Sky Sports 😂

@TrickyRed96: 10x better than BT and Sky Sports.

@Sean_FootyMad: @SkySportsPL wouldn’t have the bottle to allow content like this

@DylanCraik97: Fuckin unreal this man hahaha, just have to love @Carra23

@MrEvanDavies: Petition for every pundit to work 8 pints deep?

@MoepiPaul: “Jaden, do you have a moment to speak about the Yellow Wall?” 🤣
