Eight FA Cup First Round ties have been selected to be shown live on BBC Final Score; it has been confirmed ahead of this weekend.
Just the previous years, FA Cup games have been picked to have extended TV highlights on Sunday the 8th of November with kick-off for those 12:45 pm starts.
For the first few proper rounds, the BBC select a number of matches to show in-game highlights and goals as they happen along with a reporter at a few of the grounds to talk to the viewers through what has been happening as well as try to get a cheeky chat with the managers and players mid-game.
Sometimes those brief talks don’t always go to plan as we saw back in 2016 when reporter Mark Clemmit chose to speak with then-Newport manager Graham Westley about the game against Alfreton Town, just watch how awkward it got in the viral video below…

When the BBC regained the rights for the FA Cup in 2014–15, the programme was renamed FA Cup Final Score when the competition is the main focus, including a modified logo featuring the FA Cup trophy and Sunday broadcasts which show the key incidents from the day’s games. Although centring on the FA Cup, there are also updates from matches in other domestic competitions that are taking place.
Reporters appearing most weeks include Mark Clemmit, Chris Wise, Vicki Sparks, Robyn Cowen, Tony Husband, Damian Johnson, Ivan Gaskell, Lynsey Hooper, Naz Premji, Emma Saunders, Derm Tanner, Peter Slater, Aaron Paul, Hamish Marshall, Marc Webber, Mike Williams, Sue Smith and Roddy Forsyth.

To fit into a busy schedule for the 2020/21 season, replays have been removed from the competition. The prize fund has also been reduced, with figures returning to those last used in the 2017/18 FA Cup.
