Edin Dzeko’s bizarre response when asked about joining Serie A side AS Roma for Premier League club Everton got plenty of talk online.
The Bosnian, won managed to pick up the Premier League trophy twice at Manchester City during his first spell in England, has regularly been linked with a move back.
Everton were said to be interested in him, however the former Wolfsburg player immediately shot it down.
BT Sport commentator Ian Darke told a story of how Owen Hargreaves, a brief former teammate of Dzeko’s, asked him the question about potentially moving to Goodison Park.
Dzeko didn’t fancy swapping the sunny sights of Rome for rainy Merseyside.
Edin Dzeko on moving to Everton ? “What do you think I’m going to decide? I can stay in Rome or go to the pouring rain of Merseyside to play for Everton? Please don’t ask me that one again.” pic.twitter.com/Zivl4LQiPk

“I do think climate comes into it,” Darke told ESPN FC’s Extra Time, discussing players preferring Serie A or La Liga to England.
“I’ll tell you a story here, we were out covering a Roma game in the Champions League.
“And Owen Hargreaves, who was the co-commentator with me, got to speak to Edin Dzeko, who played for Roma, after the game and said: ‘Everton are interested in you, you know’.
“And he said: ‘What do you think I’m going to decide? I can stay in Rome or go to the pouring rain of Merseyside to play for Everton? Please don’t ask me that one again’.”

Do you even know where Bosnia is? It’s actually sunny for most days of the year with great weather, unlike England where it’s shit weather for 365 days of a year
