Disgusting new footage shows Crewe player spit TWICE at Cheltenham coach

Disgusting and quite frankly shocking new footage shows a Crewe Alexandra player spit TWICE at one particular Cheltenham coach on Saturday.

The 19-second clip shows Railwaymen captain Perry Ng spitting on Robins coach Wade Elliot after the final whistle of the FA Cup clash.

“What their captain did after the final whistle was a disgrace” is exactly what Cheltenham manager Michael Duff said after the FA Cup win.

The Robins are having a great season so far, sitting second in the League Two table, and have now booked a place in the FA Cup third round, with the draw coming Monday.

Finn Azaz had handed Cheltenham the perfect start, scoring after just three minutes when pouncing on a poor headed clearance to hit the ball into the bottom left-hand corner.

Crewe’s equaliser came on the 63-minute mark when Powell’s 20-yard shot took a deflection to wrong-foot the Cheltenham keeper, taking the game to extra time, however Robins striker George Lloyd saw his header steer the hosts into the third round.

They managed to beat League One newcomers Crewe Alexandra 2-1 after extra time, however Duff was left disgusted at what happened on the touchline come the end of the fixture.

In the post match interview, he was asked – You clearly get on well with David Artell. Was there a bit of banter between you on the touchline?

“We agreed that the referee didn’t have the strongest performance, which is the most polite way of putting it.

“Dave is a good bloke and he’ll be disappointed with his captain (Perry Ng), who spat water at one of my coaching staff so as captain of a football club, that’s a disgrace.

“I am sure Dave will say something about that because that doesn’t reflect him, I know that.”

What actually happened after the final whistle?‘ the interviewer asked.

Duff replied: “I missed it, but basically he’s had a drink of water and spat it all over Wade Elliott, all down his front.

“It’s a disgrace, if I am brutally honest, but I don’t want that to overshadow what was a really good performance.”

On the performance and advancing through to the next stage, Michael Duff said: “Obviously pleasing to beat a team a league above us. We were really good today and the best we’ve been for a while.

“We looked a threat, we looked organised, hard to beat and they are a good team. I wasn’t making that up, they are a very good team and David (Artell) has done a very good job.

“The shape of the team was good and we hit them on the counter well. We created quite a few chances as well and I thought we should have been more than 1-0 up at half-time.

“A couple of really big chances and even when it’s 1-1, I know Scott (Flinders) has made a couple of saves, but I fancied us to pick them off. The second goal was a really good one.”

On what he said to his players during the half time break, he added: “Not two halves of football are the same. Expect them to have the ball and we were happy for them to have the ball in certain areas.

“That’s why goals we let them because they want you to come onto them and they’ll pick you off with their rotations and they have good players.

“The message at half-time was win the next half, which is what we always try to do. It wasn’t sitting on a 1-0, or banking in, but we did get a little bit deep just before the goal and it’s almost subliminal.

“When their goal goes in we step on again. The message at half-time was, can you repeat what you’ve just done? Unfortunately we didn’t but we’ve done it in the end.”
