‘Did that on purpose!” – Moussa Sissoko smashes ball right at Nuno Espirito Santo on touchline

Fans reckon that Moussa Sissoko deliberately smashes a ball right at Nuno Espirito Santo on the touchline during Sunday’s clash.

Tottenham Hotspur played host to Watford, however there was one specific moment that got everyone’s attention, rushing to Twitter to speak on it.

On the 29th minute of the Premier League encounter, Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli battled for the ball as it trickled towards the touchline.

However in view was Nuno, and Sissoko is captured on camera trying to keep it in, before then kicking the ball in the direction of his former boss, hitting what looks to be his torso, taking Nuno by surprise… and many didn’t think it was accidental.

Almost immediately after, both seemingly apologise with a tap on each other before the player makes his way back to the pitch and the manager retains his focus on the game.

Then moments after, Heung-min Son marked his 200th Premier League appearance with the breakthrough goal for Tottenham

After Bergwijn won a free-kick out on the left, Son whipped a wicked cross down the corridor of uncertainty which bamboozled Bachmann in the Watford goal and sailed all the way into the far corner.

The goal was enough to see Tottenham uphold their 100 per cent Premier League record, no goals conceded and go top of the table going into the international break. Good start for Nuno and his side so far.

Nice touch from the Tottenham fans as their celebrations turn into a tribute to Moussa Sissoko, who left the club for Watford only 48 hours ago. The players and fans seizing the chance to say goodbye after their five-year association.

It was just a few days ago that Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko signed a two-year contract with Watford after feeling left out of the Spurs team.

The 32-year-old, who represented France at Euro 2020, joined the Hornets in a deal worth around £3million, the PA news agency understands.

Sissoko had two years left on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but was not part of new boss Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans and is yet to feature this season.

Watford boss Xisco Munoz said earlier on Friday: “He is a very good player, everyone knows he is an experienced player.

“He is a top player and I think he would be very good for us. We will see if he arrives. Always I say the same thing – we will have one option more in our squad to try to give all the best for our team.”

His departure marks another step in Tottenham’s rebuild as he looks set to follow Danny Rose, Erik Lamela and Toby Alderweireld out of the door at Spurs.
