David Prutton’s EFL Championship score predictions have been revealed this week, and he’s got plenty to say on each of them.
The former Nottingham Forest, Southampton, Leeds, Swindon, Sheffield Wednesday, and England U21 footballer who currently works as a presenter, pundit, and commentator has given his thoughts on the outcome of all twelve Championship matches.
After looking at the majority of his predictions, it’s found that last season he was mostly accurate and that if you put the scores he’s gone with into a table, it is was similar to the league table. See what he scores he went with below…

Cardiff vs Bristol City
That was a great win for Cardiff in midweek, and Harry Wilson is really getting up to speed which can only bode well for them.
Bristol City’s win was curious in midweek as they had not won in five before that and were well beaten by Norwich in midweek. It showed great resolve and this feels like a score draw to me.
Prutton predicts: 2-2

Reading vs Stoke
Is it surprising Reading lost at home to Preston? They are so good away from home, and it is still too early to worry about the Royals suffering a real dip.
Stoke will not be quite sure how they lost at Watford in midweek, and Michael O’Neill will be keen for his side to bounce back as quickly as possible. I think they will do just that.
Prutton predicts: 1-2

Birmingham vs Bournemouth
Both of these sides need a reaction. Birmingham should have beaten Wycombe in midweek, especially after taking the lead, and will be so disappointed to have seen their mini run of wins come to an end.
Bournemouth suffered their first defeat of the season at Sheffield Wednesday, but they have the quality to bounce back here. Away win.
Prutton predicts: 0-1

Brentford vs Middlesbrough
We often focus on Brentford’s attacking talent and probably ignore at times how good they were defensively last season. There is no doubt they need to tighten up at the back.
Middlesbrough and goals do not really go hand in hand this season, but I would like to think there will be goals in this one. I will back Brentford to edge it.
Prutton predicts: 2-1

Norwich vs Swansea
It’s nicely set up this one. Norwich were excellent at Bristol City last Saturday and should have seen off Millwall in midweek.
Maybe Swansea are still operating a little under the radar but if they keep in that part of the table that will not last long. I feel like this will be a draw.
Prutton predicts: 1-1

Sheff Wed vs Millwall
What a great week for Sheffield Wednesday. A big win against Bournemouth and then to see their points deduction halved. They could be out of the bottom three by Saturday night if things go their way.
Are Millwall dark horses for the top six this season? They are going about their business well enough and will be glad to have Gary Rowett back in the dugout. That being said, I think the positivity shrouding Wednesday will fire them to victory.
Prutton predicts: 1-0

Blackburn vs QPR
David Prutton has predicted that Blackburn will end up drawing 1-1 against Queens Park Rangers.
Tony Mowbray’s men ended up drawing 0-0 in a rather dull affair with Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough in midweek.
QPR picked up a win on Wednesday, beating Derby 1-0.
Blackburn: 17th – played 10 – won 3 – drew 2 – lost 5 – 11 points
QPR: 16th – played 10 – won 3 – drew 4 – lost 3 – 13 points

Derby vs Barnsley
David Prutton has predicted that this will also play out to a 1-1 draw.
It’s been a surprising week for the Rams, had their takeover sealed, however also lost 1-0 to QPR, keeping in the relegation zone.
Barnsley also lost, this time to Cardiff, the Bluebirds putting three past them and keeping a cleansheet on Tuesday.
Derby: 23rd – played 10 – won 1 – drew 3 – lost 6 – 6 points
Barnsley: 18th – played 10 – won 2 – drew 4 – lost 4 – 10 points

Huddersfield vs Luton
David Prutton has predicted that Luton will continue a decent start to the season with a 1-0 win on Saturday.
Huddersfield lost 2-1 to Bristol City in midweek, despite that, they still sit mid-table instead of down in and around relegation, for now.
Luton came away from Rotherham with all three points to continue their good form and put them in the top 10.
Huddersfield: 15th – played 10 – won 4 – drew 1 – lost 5 – 13 points
Luton: 9th – played 10 – won 5 – drew 1 – lost 4 – 16 points

Nottingham Forest vs Wycombe
David Prutton has predicted that Nottingham Forest will come out victorious, 2-1 winners.
Chris Hughton’s side got back to winning ways, beating Coventry 2-1 at home.
Things are starting to get better for Wycombe, they ended up winning 2-1 against Birmingham thanks to an unfortunate own goal in midweek.
N Forest: 20th – played 10 – won 2 – drew 3 – lost 5 – 9 points
Wycombe: 22nd – played 10 – won 2 – drew 1 – lost 7 – 7 points

Rotherham vs Preston
David Prutton has predicted that this will be a 2-0 win in favour of Alex Neil’s side.
In the previous fixture, the Millers couldn’t pick up a point against Luton, losing 1-0 at home.
Preston however provided a shock win away to Reading, winning 3-0.
Rotherham: 19th – played 10 – won 2 – drew 3 – lost 5 – 9 points
Preston: 12th – played 10 – won 4 – drew 1 – lost 5 – 13 points

Watford vs Coventry
David Prutton has predicted that this Championship fixture will play out to a 2-2 draw.
In the previous fixture, Vladimir Ivić’s side ended up snatching all three points, beating Stoke 3-2.
For Coventry, they lost 2-1 away from home against Nottingham Forest.
Watford: 4th – played 10 – won 5 – drew 3 – lost 2 – 18 points
Coventry: 21st – played 10 – won 2 – drew 2 – lost 6 – 8 points
