Cow and dog casually invades pitch to halt friendly

A video has gone viral this week of what appears to be a cow and a dog casually invades a football pitch to halt a friendly.

On the 25th minute, cattle interrupted the match between Bulgarian outfit PFC Botev Plovdiv and Cypriot side AEL Limassol in Sofia a few years back, halting the non league game for quite some time.

The owner of the cow reportedly lost sight of the animal which used its chance and make a dash from the pound right at the edge of the field as you can see at the end of the clip.

However, that wasn’t everything! Several minutes later, the dog of the herd also decided to go on the pitch, but it was quite easier for the officials to move the dog out of the pitch.

It took the officials a couple of minutes to take it off from the field and the teams could continue with the match.

Fans reacted as a cow and dog casually invades the pitch to halt a friendly, see what people had to say below, oh and get ready for some puns, we know you love them…

@curious_twitt: Reminds me of the time a herd of wildebeest stampeded through the penalty box at Cowdenbeath back in 1982. Completely wiped out our keeper and I had to finish the game in goal @CaptainMontyOBE @rudolph70861317

@richgardner16: Modern day players are always milking it almost on a dairy basis!! I’m becoming very intolerant to this sort of behaviour

@wilsont1990: Great mooooovement to be fair

@Goggsy67: Classic four paw moo formation

@GazHayward: Definitely more likely to watch this than boring regular human-only football

@carlo174: Everyone is steering clear, no-one going in for the shoulder charge? 😂😂

@QuagmiresPants: Quicker than Steve Bull 🤣

@RossiDownes: Gordon Cow-ans in midfield!

@billypilgrimage: Cowdenbeath v Rovers

@willmurphy29: Farmers league

@branillionaire: That’s a new one

@sayyaf_10: @QSetien collect your cow

@Tekkers_Todaaay: Daniel Levy should sign this two for the middle of the park. Spurs might actually win something

@rugbyleaguelady: Herd immunity

@SaurEd6: The dog seems confused with the cow’s shenanigans.

@toriimacdaddy: Clear through on goal and no one plays him the ball. Shameful.

@grindlay1988: Definitely milking the celebration

@vieira4: What was that song we had to sing in primary school? “A cow and a dog, a cat and a fiddle, 99 times as high as the moon”

@GeoffTebbetts: Suggestion: cow at CB
Plus: occupies field well, tough to rough up on set pieces
Minus: probably need an international slot

@Michael_TSB: Even men with steel hearts love to see a *checks notes* cow on the pitch

@ImaginaryCard: Literal farmers league football 😄

@josepintoj: Setien has to control his livestock man. Do better.

@Johnson689908: Wouldn’t get that the Super League

@Markwebster17: Half time the manger said, get out there and grab the bull by the horns!

@binarybeast7: @FTalentScout preparing a bio on this cow and dog’s movement as we speak

@BMxFTBL: Then they complain when we call them farmers smh

@ForeverAYellow: I’ve seen some pretty bizarre stuff at football, but not something like that!

Also a few years back, many fans will remember when a black cat interrupted Everton’s 3-1 defeat to Wolves at Goodison Park when it invaded the pitch during the second half.

The game was halted for around two minutes while stewards and the footballers bizarrely let it casually roamed about on the pitch, almost expecting it to know where the exit was.

It’s claimed by a commentator that the cat was smuggled into the stadium by an annoyed Toffees fan with pressure growing towards manager Marco Silva from supporters.

In the end the animal was only guided off the field which then led supporters in the stands to sarcastically cheer.

The game continued but no further goals were scored following the intrusion in the 68th minute.

Watch the moment for yourself in the video below…

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo found the moment all too amusing whilst Marco Silva sat in the dugout looking rather miffed off.
