Coventry City player Milan van Ewijk makes a cheeky ‘dig’ at Man Utd in reaction to FA Cup draw as fans of each club get confident.

The Sky Blues’ impressive journey in the FA Cup continued over the weekend when they secured a spot in the semi final, netting two goals in injury time to defeat Wolves 3-2 in an extraordinary game at Molineux.

As a result of this, they will now face Manchester United at Wembley, who triumphed over Liverpool 4-3 in another thrilling quarter-final match at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Coventry last reached this stage of the FA Cup in 1987, when they beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 after extra-time. Should they manage to overcome Man Utd, they will take on either Chelsea or reigning champions Manchester City in the potential final this summer.

Coventry and their supporters are quietly optimistic about their chances of getting a win over the Red Devils, with Milan van Ewijk openly expressing confidence in their ability to succeed.

He said, as per ZiggoSport: “The draw is alright. Against Man City you pretty much have no chance. With all due respect, Man United is a top club but they have games where it doesn’t go well.”

Mark Goldbridge gave his reaction to Ten Hag’s side getting Mark Robins’ Coventry.

In the clip below, which Coventry will surely also look to use as motivation, he said: “Coventry City. Get in, get in, get in, get in, get in.

“Coventry City for Manchester United. We’re going to win the cup. We’re going to win the cup. We’re going to win the cup.

“Manchester United. We’re going to Wembley twice.”

Coventry fans also spoke to Sky Sports about their chances of Man Utd.

One said: “Absolutely no worries. We beat them in 87, well beat them again this time. Bring it on.

Another added: “I think well win it. Yeah, I think if we go with the right same in mind, but we’ve got to take our chances this time.

“We didn’t take our chances against Wolves and we wouldn’t have been in that position at the end.

“But this time we’ve got to take them against United when they come along.

A third said: Is very doable. I mean, yes, you’ve got Marcus Rashford, but we have Ellis Simms. We have had you. Right. And also we’ve got think. I think we can do it. Yeah, I really do.”
