Coventry and Luton confirm ticket sales for the 2023 Championship playoff final, and the showpiece at Wembley is going to be packed out.
Both sides have announced that they have sold all of its allocated tickets, with Sky Blues receiving 36,237 general admission tickets, and Luton getting 36,493 – taking the total crowd to 72,730.
Tickets were on sale 12 hours after their semi-final win over Middlesbrough by a 1-0 score, with Coventry making its third trip to Wembley within seven seasons.
If the EFL don’t increase the number of tickets available, BBC Sport report this will likely be the smallest Sky Blues crowd at the new Wembley.
42,500 Coventry fans were present as they defeated Oxford United and won the EFL Trophy, in 2017, then, in 2018, there were 40,000 people for the League Two playoff final win over Exeter City.
Coventry won the only other final they ever played at Wembley in 1987, a 3-2 FA Cup victory over Tottenham Hotspur when ticket allocations were limited to 25,000 for each club.
The Charity Shield final was played at Wembley in August 1987, and they lost to Everton 1-0. But, as far as Wembley Finals are concerned, the record of this team is perfect.
Luton has sold 28,600 seats out of the 36,493 by Monday, but on Tuesday, the remaining tickets were snapped up quick.

Here’s what fans said as Coventry and Luton confirm the latest ticket sales for the 2023 Championship playoff final…
@dharvey4: Ticketmaster were a shambles for both club’s, no idea how they are still going?
@hattergonnahat: So disappointed not to get a ticket, despite waiting in queue. Looking at the resale sites (where there are a lot on sale for Β£400+ ) feels like 6 per season ticket holder was over generous and designed to make the admin easier.
@andycparsons: Cracking news, going to be some atmosphere πͺ
@Atexo02:
Grass is green
Water is wet
Luton are massive
@wayne_lee1982: Absolute nightmare got on early then issues saying didn’t meet criteria even though could see seats avaliable but wouldnt let me select, finally after about 8 minutes turned dark blue and let me select. Very stressful to say least
@georgeltfc_: gonna be one fucking hell of an atmosphere
@LTFC_Dave: Bizarre. Had weird freaks from the north-east tell me we only get 10k at home so wouldn’t possibly sell nearly 4 times that many tickets
@NickPates: But we wouldnβt sell out π€«π€«
@westterrace1987: Now give each side another 5k each. Is there really about need for 18k neutral/sponsor’s?
@jessfiggins: Fucking come on π§‘
@wheatles18: The stuff dreams are made of π
@OhWhenTheTown: What a club ππ
@jmilbs94: @EFL @FA @wembleystadium give us more
@LewisT_Williams: So many Luton fans still didnβt get a ticket for Saturday, just shows we ainβt that small of a football club 𧑠#LTFC
