Club World Cup 2025: Dates, teams, venues, odds, format, prize money, TV, schedule

Time to check out the newly expanded 2025 Club World Cup dates, teams, venues, odds, format, prize money, TV and schedule.

Yep, the controversial competition gets underway this weekend, just weeks after the end of the 2025/26 season for most of the clubs taking part.

It gets underway in Miami on June 15th, 2025, at 1:00 AM BST, hosted by Fifa in the United States for the first time.

It will serve as a trial run for the 2026 World Cup, using five of the same venues.

But already the tournament has faced criticism over ticketing issues, with slow sales and dynamic pricing leading to tickets as low as £25 for some matches, though high-profile games like Real Madrid vs. Al-Hilal start at £166.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino has defended the pricing and promotions, expecting a strong attendance and a historic event.

Concerns about player welfare persist due to a packed schedule, with Manchester City playing just 24 days after their domestic season ends.

Players’ union Fifpro has criticised Fifa, issuing a legal complaint over fixture congestion, however, Fifa denies these claims, emphasising player welfare measures and note that the tournament replaces the Confederations Cup, with a maximum of seven games for finalists every four years.

A £775m prize pot, heavily favouring European clubs, and disputes over MLS player bonuses highlight financial tensions.

Despite a low-key build-up in Miami and skepticism with pundits claiming there is little interest in this competition from players and fans, big clubs have named strong squads with new signings.
