A club owner wants Premier League relegation on a points-per-game basis scrapped if the season can’t continue and adds Liverpool should still win the title.
Brighton’s Tony Bloom has stated that the PPG system to determine who goes down wouldn’t work, and wouldn’t get the backing from the clubs should a vote determine how the campaign ends.

The season is currently suspended and Premier League sides are hopeful they can return to action, with talks of behind closed doors matches from June should it be approved by the government.
Bloom said: “I don’t foresee a situation, if the season’s not played out, that teams will get relegated on a points-per-game basis.
“I just don’t think it’s fathomable that a team which is not allowed to play out the season may lose out on 0.2 points based on this system, and also it does not take into account the strength of the team you have not played.”
“You may get a title winner, obviously Liverpool deserve it, you may use that criteria for European qualification but I do not see how anyone can vote for that, certainly the per cent needed (70 per cent), for teams to get relegated. I really cannot foresee that.
“When we are talking to Premier League clubs and the Premier League itself it’s about finishing this season.
“If we get to a situation whereby it’s decided the season can’t be concluded, then we need to have serious conversations about what’s going to happen next season.
“We are going to be well under the FFP numbers. It may affect other clubs.
“It has not been discussed but I am sure if the virus meant people were going under the numbers it would be taken into consideration because it would be unfair to get a penalty because of the virus.
“There’s no doubt the actual value of players right now has gone down in all squads.
“That may rebound in a year’s time to something like what it is today, but there’s no doubt if you were going to sell a player in this transfer window coming up and you were expecting to be getting £15m, that you’re going to get less than that.
“How much less, I have no idea. It depends on who the next few months play out.
“The number one thought in all of our minds needs to be the virus and the effects on the health of the nation. When you are talking about a new mortuary next to the Amex Stadium it really brings it home.”

The club have transformed their ground into the largest coronavirus testing centre on the south coast.
It will operate on an appointment-only basis for NHS staff and other key workers and will be able to carry out 1,000 tests per day.

What a ridiculous comment you can have it at one end of the table but not the other

Can’t have different rules at opposite ends of the table. Talking out of his backside.

A very nice fellow is Tony but no one has the right answers .
Everyone will be out for themselves.
Scrapping the whole season for everyone is the only way ,otherwise it will interfere with next season.— TheRachaelBlackmoreFanClub??+? (@BlackmoresFan) April 19, 2020
It’s funny how the teams in relegation places want it scrapped, the teams just outside top 4 want it scrapped. Liverpool and mid table aren’t arsed

Brighton enjoying their 15 minutes.

Hmm I’m confused ? so you can decide title and European places but not relegation using same rule? What if say arsenal had 6 ‘easier’ games left compared to say Chelsea … they could secure Europe? Brighton owner desperate here but logic fails. But of a tit me thinks

Why not try and read the article. He wasn’t talking about what he wants to happen. He makes the point that it’d be possible for the clubs to effectively figure out a way to crown a winner, but they’d never vote to condemn any club to relegation without the games being played.
