Chesterfield have this afternoon confirmed that first team manager Martin Allen has been sacked after a 4-0 defeat to Solihull Moors saw them drop into the National League’s relegation zone.
He was appointed back in May this year, however of the 30 games in charge of the Spireites, he has won just 7, drew 12 and lost 11.

CHESTERFIELD CLUB STATEMENT:
Chesterfield have today parted company with manager Martin Allen following yesterday’s 4-0 defeat at home to Solihull Moors, which saw the Spireites drop into the National League relegation zone following just four wins from 25 games.
Assistant-manager Adrian Whitbread and head of recruitment/goalkeeper coach Carl Muggleton have also left the club.
CEO Graham Bean said: “On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Martin and his staff for their hard work and wish them all the very best for the future. The search for a new manager is now underway.”
Academy manager John Pemberton will take charge of the team for Saturday’s game at home to Hartlepool United.
