Chesterfield manager slams ‘disrespectful’ actions from Bromley staff member

Chesterfield manager James Rowe slams the ‘disrespectful’ actions of a certain Bromley staff member following their weekend clash.

Things over boiled come the full time whistle after Bromley had scored on the 96th minute, which made the scoreline 2-2, and it certainly which sparked wild celebrations on the touchline.

As mentioned by Derbyshire Times, words were exchanged after the final whistle, with Jame Rowe having his say on the matter.

“I think they are disrespectful in what they say, they should not be saying the things they do,” Rowe said.

“You have got to stand up to it because it is just nonsense isn’t it?

“You have got to protect yourself and you have got to protect the club when things are said that are wrong and go over your non-negotiables. It does not matter whether you are on the street or on the football pitch, you have to stand up to that.

“The person who said those things has got to have a long look in the mirror at themselves because we don’t want that in the game. For all the passion and all the pride and both benches going at it, there is respect and you have got to maintain that respect.”

After being asked if he could reveal what was said, he added: “No, I am not going to go into that because I don’t wash my dirty linen in public.

“It is said, it is done, I have said my bit as well on it to him so hopefully he will learn from it.”

ON THE GAME:

Rowe said: “You have got to kill the game off and if you don’t then you can be punished from the slightest mistake and obviously we have made a mistake for their second goal.

“I am shocked because I did not see that goal coming. It was a mistake, it happens, but we can’t vilify the player (Calvin Miller) for diving in because we can deal with the cross better as well.

“It is unlucky, it happens, but what you can’t do is let the adversity rot in. I am sure with the character we have got we won’t that won’t happen.”

He was also frustrated at the decision to play six minutes of added time.

“The referee has been here twice, that is two penalties he has given against us, and two potential penalties for us that he has not given, that is disappointing.

“We played six minutes added on. Normally when there is that amount added on there is a major incident that has happened and I don’t think there was one.”

Bromley manager Andy Woodman praised an ‘excellent’ Chesterfield but said his team got their ‘rewards’ in the end with a 96th minute equaliser.

“I think it was a fantastic performance from us,” Woodman said.

“Let’s not underestimate what a good team Chesterfield are, credit to them as a football club and their manager, they were excellent.

“I think we matched them every way possible and we got our rewards.

“Whoever thinks we are going to come to Chesterfield and have loads of chances does not understand football. You are not going to come here and get six, seven, eight chances, no team in this league will.”
