The draw for the Third Round of the Checkatrade Trophy was made this afternoon on Sky Sports News, yes, on another channel at a different time.
It was presented by Adam Leventhal along with Alan McInally and Matt Le Tissier. Eight ties, which were all regionalised, were drawn out.

Northern Section
ROCHDALE or OLDHAM ATHLETIC v MANCHESTER CITY U21
SUNDERLAND v NEWCASTLE UNITED U21
ACCRINGTON STANLEY v BURY
PORT VALE v SHREWSBURY TOWN
Southern Section
SOUTHEND UNITED v PORTSMOUTH
CHELSEA U21 v PETERBOROUGH UNITED
CHELTENHAM TOWN v OXFORD UNITED or TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR U21
NORTHAMPTON TOWN v BRISTOL ROVERS
All third round ties are to be played over the week of January 7.
There is £40,000 in prize money for the winners, who will progress through.
