10) Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest’s cheapest adult season ticket price was £465 for 2023/24, with an 18.3% increase for 2024/25 with it now at £550.
Forest fans said the rises are likely to price many fans out, particularly teenagers and young adults as the worst rises hit those age brackets.
There is also new restrictions on the club’s youth tickets – to be limited to 17-year-olds down from 19. This means an 18-year-old sat in certain sections of the ground could be going from a ticket that is under £190 to £850.
Based on figures calculated by supporter groups, the average increase from the 2023-2024 season card prices across the City ground are 17.83% for adults, 18.08% for seniors, a 50% increase in the youth category and 40.40% for children.
Nottingham Forest Supporters’ Trust (NFST) said the rises were “totally disproportionate” and the size of the increases will “undoubtedly mean that many will now be priced out of renewing”.
“NFST strongly opposes these price increases which will have a negative impact on all match-going fans. We believe that our fans’ incredible support has been a key factor in the remarkable success over recent seasons.
“This is no way to reward that contribution.”
The club’s flag group, Forza Garibaldi, also complained with the price rises and added they’ll be withdrawing upcoming displays at the City Ground in protest.
“We are dismayed and frustrated to see the significant rise in season card prices,” they said.
“We are particularly concerned that parents / guardians who take children to games are being priced out. The total increase for an entire family is eye-watering and, in many instances, will not be able to be justified.”
9) Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace’s cheapest adult season ticket price remained the same at £545 for both seasons.
8) Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers’s cheapest adult tickets for supporters were set at £525 for the 2023/24 season, this remains for 2024/25.
They announced they have sold their allocation of season tickets, just months after voicing anger and protested over proposed price hike.
The club saw some sense and decided to agree scrapping ticket increases for u14s and freeze the cost of adult season tickets.
A petition against the plans led to 15,000 signatures, with supporters’ groups also urging the club to change their plans.
The club said the increased prices were crucial to help it “to align more closely with comparable clubs” and to compete at the highest level, with some ticket prices going up 17% and one category of under-14s tickets up 176% from £105 to £290.
Club chairman Jeff Shi insisted that commercial growth was “vital” for the club’s sustainability and competitiveness, and said that they had carried out a review, which found its adult prices were lower than most, while junior prices were among the lowest in the league.
After doing a u-turn on the price rise, Darren Warren from the Wolves 1877 Trust said he had “a lot more respect for the people who made the decision”, but added that there was “much more work to do” and that the club could be looking at prices for under 17s and under 21s.
The club said: “Wolves deeply value the feedback from our supporters and the role the fan advisory board plays in representing their voices.”
7) Brentford
Brentford’s cheapest adult season ticket price was £419 for 2023/24, with an 18.1% increase for 2024/25, now set at £495.
6) Southampton
Southampton’s cheapest adult season ticket price was £479 for 2023/24, in the Championship, rising by 26.4% for the first season back in the Premier League, now £479 for the 2024/25.
5) Manchester City
For the current holders, their fans’ cheapest adult season ticket was £385 for the 2023/24 season, with a 10.4% increase for 2024/25, now at £425.
4) Leicester City
Leicester City’s cheapest adult season ticket for the Championship title winning season was £385 for 2023/24, showing a 4.9% increase for 2024/25, now £404, upon their return to the Premier League.
3) Ipswich Town
Their cheapest adult season ticket price was £353 for 2023/24, rising by 5.4% for 2024/25 with it now set at £372.
2) Newcastle United
For Newcastle United, Their cheapest adult season ticket for 23/24 was £438, a decrease of 21.23% for 2024/25, now set at £345.
1) West Ham United
The 2023/24 Cheapest Adult Ticket at West Ham United had been £310, but this increases by 11.30% to £345.
The recent surge in season ticket prices at West Ham has sparked anger from fans, leading to a petition being launched with supporters expressing their frustration at being priced out of attending games.
The Premier League outfit will no longer offer new concession seats in bands 1 to 4, but instead, new concessions will only be available in bands 5 and 6, which are located in the upper tier of the London Stadium, as per The Athletic.
And tickets for the over-66 and under-21 category have an average increase of 7.5%.
The most expensive season ticket is in 1966 West Stand, £1,720 for adults, concessions, and under-21s and under-18s, an increase of £100 compared to the previous season (2023-24).
The second highest priced season ticket is located in the 1966 Billy Bonds Stand, costing £1,445, which reflects a 6.25% increase.
West Ham feel they offered generous concessionary pricing for U18s, U21s and over 66.
