There was chaos at Swansea v Preston, with players and staff in a 30-man brawl, while Joe Allen and Ryan Lowe are sent off on Wednesday.
In a Championship match that ended with heated scenes, Swansea beat playoff-chasing Preston with a 4-2 win.
Preston boss Ryan Lowe, and Swansea’s Joe Allen both received straight red cards following a heated exchange on the touchline. The hosts had been leading 3-2 with five minutes to go.

The Football Association are expected to charge both clubs after at least 30 players, coaches and substitutes were involved in the incident.
It all started when Allen – who had been subbed – appeared to be pushed by an angry Lowe in front of the benches.
Players and officials from both clubs joined in and soon referee Oliver Langford lost control of the game.
The official later showed straight red cards to Allen and Lowe and when the game finally restarted, Piroe got his second of the game, and 19th of the season, making it 4-2 and denting Preston’s playoff hopes.
Having lost at Millwall in their previous game – ending a run of three successive victories – the Lilywhites needed a solid start to steady the ship.
But conceded a minute in as Piroe struck the ball home with Preston giving it away in midfield and failed to mark Joe Allen who delivered from the right. Piroe had time to control and hit a measured low drive into the far corner from 12 yards.
North End had a good spell of possession but had to wait until the 17th minute to have their first shot, Thomas Cannon putting wide from the edge of the box.
Preston continued to press, with Alvaro Fernandez linking up with Daniel Johnson, before cutting inside and unleashing a shot which was deflected for a corner.
Preston sent players on the attack, but became more vulnerable to Swansea’s quick counters.
Woodman tipped Piroe’s shot away after Allen had set him up on the edge.
Woodman was again put to the test by Piroe’s half-volley.
Preston went 2-0 down as gaps kept appearing down their right by the 25th minute.
Ryan Manning made his way into the visitors’ box and squared the ball to Piroe, whose pass to Allen, before turning inside Andrew Hughes and curled the ball inside the far post.
It was Allen’s first goal for the club since he returned from Stoke for a second spell last summer.
Preston’s heads then dropped and they conceded a soft third goal just on the stroke of half time.
Manning sent in a free-kick from the right and with no-one within five yards of Harry Darling, the centre-back headed home from the edge of the six-yard box.
Preston hit back responded at the beginning of the second half when Swansea lacked defending a free-kick and Cannon placed the ball into the roof of the net.
Cannon was handed a yellow card for diving when he went down in the box as Langford waved away claims for a spot kick.
With 19 minutes remaining, sub Troy Parrott gave the away side hope when he got in behind Swansea’s defence and finished emphatically shortly after coming on.
But after the late melee, as seen above,, Piroe had the final say to leave Preston two points off the play-off places with three games to play.
Swansea manager Russell Martin said post-match: “Ryan pushes Joe and all chaos ensues. The game should be stopped, but it isn’t. Ryan pushes Joe and after that it’s carnage. If that doesn’t happen I don’t think any of it happens. I am not sure he (Lowe) will come in for a drink. I think he has done a great job there, as he did at Plymouth, so I am not going to judge him on that action because it’s a pressured environment. It’s so different, it’s so difficult – it is what it is.
“I’ve watched it back. I don’t think it’s pretty for anyone. Our job as a group of staff is to get players away from it. The situation could have been avoided, twice probably. It is what it is. When people are so passionate and care about what they’re doing, sometimes it boils over. I don’t judge anyone for that, but it is a disappointing thing to happen. The game probably should have been stopped, Jay Fulton takes a head injury. It can be avoided.”

Tom Sandells (PNE writer for @leponline) tweeted: “90+1′ Absolutely bizarre. Three different melees going on, all started with a Swansea player playing on a bit with a head injury and PNE not putting it out. Then Allen and Lowe kicked off and everyone else did. Not seen anything like it. #pnefc
“90+4′ Goal Swansea. Piroe clear behind the defence after a horrendous pass from Brady, Walsh into the striker and he slots it. Martin celebrates in the direction of the PNE bench.
“Absolute insanity. PNE absolutely terrible for the first half, managed to get themselves close in the second but in truth never good enough. Madness at the end too sees Lowe sent off. No handshakes after the game for the staffs.
“No PNE post match press conference at all tonight. Player or manager.
“It took me six hours to get here tonight, three trains, two cancellations – and I’m paid to be here. 250+ supporters won’t hear from their manager tonight after his red card, after making the same trip out of their own pocket.
“PNE media department keen to put someone up, no blame on them. Lowe did not want to speak and didn’t want a player to either.
“No surprise, but Russell Martin laid the blame on Ryan Lowe for starting the brawl. Praised him and said he won’t judge him on one incident – and said he didn’t think he’d come in for a drink..”

This is what social media users said on chaos at Swansea v Preston, players and staff in 30-man brawl, Joe Allen and Ryan Lowe sent off…
@PodgePNE:

@zacdt_: Kyle Naughton what a Lad 🤣
@jbopster: @EFL Dai pulls a member of there coaching staff away, who then breaks free and grabs Fernandez… No card…. #pnefc #pne #EFL #swanseahaveprevious
@Seedy11: Ref brought that chaos on himself with some of the worst officiating I have ever seen. Absolutely woeful. #pnefc
@Dylanscfc_: Your manager swung
@ChloeChantelle1: Your manager literally swung for our player but Russell is wrong for laughing? 😂
@Jackdavies0420: “see me in the carpark” 🤣🤣
@twiteringgoose: End of the day you don’t deserve anything if you go 3-0 down to a midtable, nothing to play for side. Royal Rumble probably killed our momentum but should never have got to that. All results went our way as well. #pnefc
@JohnKelleher956: Ryan Lowe should be ashamed of himself, manager? more like a bell end. He pushed Joe Allen and got Allen sent off due to his reaction, Lowe also put his head into the face of Russell Martin. The @FA_PGMOL should discipline referee Langford as well for his poor performance.
@midlandno4: Big fines incoming
@scfcfinn_: Piroe at the end is killing me 😂😂 bloke just wanted another goal and fuck off home
@DavidBraley90: “Go on, hit him!”
@aaron97aw:
“Nobody wants to see this” – TV commentator.
“Go on f*cking hit him, go on.” -Everybody else.
@sophiehoward92: Ledson ‘go on then’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣 #pnefc
@Phyllis402011: Yet it was YOUR Manager that pushed OUR player 🤔.
@DGreavesi: Poor media blackout from the club. Not even a thank you to the fans who travelled to watch.
@EvanPhillips90: Your players, manager and club are a joke.
@WilSCFC: Ryan Lowe refusing to do his press conference I’ve heard 👀 unbelievable headloss
@Original_Moldo: Not just the first half they’ve not turned up for? Think it’s disrespectful. They need to face up to the fans. #pnefc
@LucSCFC1: Joey Allen elite piss boiler and top jack bastard, Ryan Lowe is a fucking alien, heroic play-off charge is on. What a night to be Swansea
@PnePure: I don’t care what anyone says, Ryan Lowe and his team have done well to get us having something to play for with 3 games left. Not seen that since 2018? #pnefc
@MajorSudell: Ryan Lowe takes the blame for me. Terrible starting set up, then instigating a massive brawl just as we look like doing the impossible and drawing level. Embarrassing display from him. Westley had more class than this clown. #pnefc
@CJ_PNE: Ryan lowe offering martin outside 😂
