Atletico were unfortunate to lose at Liverpool in their opening game, but subsequently recorded an emphatic home victory over Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this week.

Man City have picked up four points from their first two matches and will fancy their chances of adding to their tally at Villarreal on Matchday 3.

Newcastle United will bid to build on their impressive victory over Union Saint-Gilloise when they welcome Benfica to St James’ Park.

The Portuguese outfit are managed by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, which adds an intriguing layer of theatre to watch promises to be an entertaining game.

Mourinho will likely have one eye on events at Stamford Bridge, as his old club goes head-to-head with Eredivisie giants Ajax.

Chelsea were defeated by Bayern Munich in their opening game, but bounced back to beat Benfica in their second match. They are strongly fancied to record another victory.

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool both face tricky away fixtures. Spurs visit Monaco, while Liverpool head to Germany to take on Eintracht Frankfurt.

Both sides will be desperate to bag positive results to boost their chances of securing automatic progression to the knockout phase of the competition.
