BRENTFORD
v NEWCASTLE UNITED
ARSENAL
v MANCHESTER CITY
EVERTON
v MANCHESTER UNITED

There was just two upsets caused in the Fourth Round stage of the competition, and both of those came from Championship clubs against Premier League sides on Thursday night.

The first to do so was Thomas Frank’s Brentford, winning 3-0 against their playoff final opponents Fulham, putting yet more pressure on the Cottagers manager Scott Parker, who is finding life back in the top flight hard to come by.

Frank said after the game that the Bees are “open to selling” Said Benrahma after the Algeria international “added a few million to his price” with two sublime goals after Marcus Forss’ emphatic finish had given the hosts a half-time lead.

“Am I confident he will stay? I’m confident that I would love him to stay,” said Brentford boss Frank.

“But I don’t know. Honestly, if the price is right we are open to selling, but if not we will be happy for him to stay.

“Either we are going to get a top price or we are going to keep one of the best players in the Championship. Has he added a few million to his price? 100%.”

Stoke City also pulled off a surprise win when they travelled to Birmingham to face last season’s Carabao Cup finalists Aston Villa on Thursday night.

Sam Vokes popped up to score the game’s only goal in the first half – the 30 year old striker heading home following a corner.
