Can Manchester United beat the odds and finish in the top four of the Premier League?

After beating West Ham, the dark horse of the season, Manchester United is slowly climbing the ranks thanks to Marcus Rashford’s last-minute goal. But the team still has a long way to go if they want to reach the level of the league’s top-performing teams: Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea. Despite a better chance than most, can the team pull it off?

According to the bookmakers, Manchester United is now 6/1 to finish in the top four. Although nothing is ever certain in sports, only the most die-heart Manchester United fans will tell you an outright win is in the cards. After a turbulent season with many defeats, the club has entered a somewhat unstable period in its history.

Ronaldo’s goal drought

Seasoned footballer Ronaldo is known for his goal-scoring record, but he has now gone four matches without scoring, which is one of his longest. That’s why some are starting to refer to it as a ‘goal drought’. But if Ronaldo starts scoring goals again this could have a positive impact on the team overall – especially its chances of climbing the league table and securing more wins. This makes it fun to bet on what his future goal scores will look like. You can read reviews of online betting sites such as BetUK at Casino Hawks. While betting when the outcomes are uncertain can be risky, the rewards can be high.

The issue of management

Another big challenge for Manchester United is their management. Since the club fired Solskjaer, the team has been left with Ralf Rangnick as interim manager, who has so far struggled to get them into good shape and make any real difference. For this reason, they are ramping up their search for a long-term manager to save the club and the team from further defeats. The hope is that fresh blood, along with smart transfers, can put Manchester United back at the top of the Premier League and Champions League again – and the fans have already had their say in who the new manager should be. An online poll revealed Erik Ten Hag as a clear favorite.

Transfers needed to save the club

Some experts believe that Manchester United has struggled to make the most of the transfer market – not to mention their financial power. With the winter transfer window closing, they need to act fast if they want to secure a modern squad capable of facing future challenges. Although some players are bound to continue for the club, their contracts will run out in the next 18 months, which has led to a lot of speculation. Could the manager decide to change the entire team apart from a few key players? Will Ronaldo stay? Although the answer to these questions does little in helping us work out the club’s prospects of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season, it tells us something about how much trouble the team is facing.
