Burton Albion make epic fail in match programme prior to match with Portsmouth

Fans have taken to social media after spotting Burton Albion make an epic fail in their match programme prior to match with Portsmouth.

Kenny Jackett’s side ended up coming out on top in the League One meeting between the two sides, but it took a very late goal for the away side to snatch an important three points.

Ben Close got the Hampshire side in front after 31 minutes however Burton striker Liam Boyce cancelled out the opener two minutes into the second half.

Portsmouth’s Matt Clarke claimed a controversial 92nd minute winner, Albion were convinced there was a handball and an offside in the build-up but the referee let the goal stand.

The result meant Pompey stayed 4th in the table and two points of Barnsley in 2nd, an automatic promotion spot.

Great form has seen Burton rise to 9th, who looked to get their fifth win in six, it weren’t to be and they now sit 9th, nine points off the playoffs with three games to go.

The latest talking point is that, on the back of the matchday programmes, the Brewers somehow got mixed up and printed the names of Barnsley players instead of their opposition’s.

The Tykes were Burton’s opponents back on the 6th of April, and weirdly, the Staffordshire side got the Portsmouth manager’s name, Kenny Jackett right under the wrong squad.
