Bruno Fernandes bites back at Aston Villa fans in Man Utd’s 2-1 defeat with an injury update given on the 31 year old.
The Red Devils captain was subbed off at half time due to a soft tissue injury (likely hamstring), which manager Ruben Amorim said will sideline him for “some games” or “a while”.
From the dugout, an injured Fernandes got into some light-hearted banter with taunting Villa fans. In the clip below, he could be heard saying “You sing more for me than for your team” and “Don’t be angry because I score always against you”.
Fernandes’s record against Villa sits at 7 goals in 13 appearances, but failed to add to it in the first half of Sunday night’s game.
Aston Villa fans had the last laugh, as their side secured a 10th consecutive win across all competitions, with Morgan Rogers scoring a brace, either side of Matheus Cunha’s leveller for United.

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim speaking to Sky Sports on “It is really strange. During this year, especially at this time, we have so many problems, but we have to cope with that.
“I think Fletcher did his first game, so that is good news, Lacey the same, so we will try to find solutions and go for the next game.
“I am a manager for six years and even Sporting is all about the academy, so it’s about the history.
“Every manager wants to bring players through from the academy and not spend money because this gives value to the manager.
“I just want to win and want to be certain that the players that come in from the academy are not going to suffer too much. I’m just trying to help the club, it doesn’t matter if it’s from the academy or abroad.
“I think it’s soft tissue [Fernandes injury] so it’s going to be a while. We’ll see.”

He added to the media: “I think he’s going to lose some games. I don’t know for sure. Let’s see. I don’t know. I don’t what to talk about matters you can’t control.
“He is a guy who is always fit, so he might recover quite well. I think Kobbie Mainoo is out, Bruno is out. We will see. No excuses, we need to win the next game and we will try to win the next game.”
Amorim speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “It’s massive. We don’t know how bad it is but for him to come off, we know how tough he is. Hopefully it’s not too bad and we keep with him for the next games.”
Henry Winter tweeted: “Manchester United will miss Bruno Fernandes not only for his passing, assists and goals but also because he cares.
“Fernandes can annoy with his moaning at refs and arm-flapping antics but it’s rooted in a frustration at United not being better.
“He cares about results and performances. He cares about other players. He’s not played in his best position but gets on with it for the good of the team.
“United need more of Fernandes’ mindset. They’ll miss him during his recovery from a hamstring injury. Fernandes is rarely injured so this will be a glimpse of life at United when he does eventually leave.”
