Bristol Rovers announce their new signing George Friend with a hilarious well known scene from The Inbetweeners on Tuesday.
In the episode of this Channel 4 show, Jay is mocked for having a conversation with a friend who he had met when doing trials at West Ham.
Bristol Rovers, taking inspiration from how Burnley have done their transfer announcement videos, used this scene and got George Friend to say the famous quote.
JAY’S MATE: Jay, I’m off now mate. See you soon.
JAY: All right then mate. (Jay gives two thumbs up as his mate leaves)
SIMON: Who was that?
JAY: Just a friend.
NEIL: You made a new friend?
SIMON: Ooh “A friend?” Since when have you had other friends? (High pitched mocking voice) Ooh, friend!
JAY: I knew him when we both doing trials at West Ham. He’s just moved into the area. He’s just some guy.
SIMON: Oh, “just some guy?”
WILL: Some guy.
SIMON: Some guy.
WILL: That’s all it is.
SIMON: Some friend of Jay’s from his trials at West Ham that never happened.
WILL: Oh don’t forget the thumbs up!
NEIL, SIMON and WILL all put their thumbs like JAY did earlier and start talking in high-pitched mocking voices.
SIMON: Aww, frwend!
NEIL: Fwend!
WILL: Fwend!
SIMON: He’s my fwend!
WILL: Aww, fwend!
JAY: F**k you. Where’s the beer?
SIMON: We’re out.
WILL: I’m going to the loo.
JAY: What for, a w**k?! You w**ker!
WILL: Fwend!
GEORGE FRIEND: Friend!
