Boston impress fans by signing experienced EFL player from League Two promotion winning side

Boston United impress fans by signing experienced EFL player Michael Bostwick from League Two promotion winning side Stevenage.

‘Bozzy’ began his career with Millwall and regularly played for the club’s Under-18 team and Reserve team.

When he was 17 years old, he joined Conference National club Crawley Town on a work experience loan in the last stages of the 2005-06 season.

Bostwick was a regular for Crawley before he joined Millwall, then was told he wasn’t needed by the club. He then signed an 18-month deal with Rushden & Diamonds, where he played 8 matches before being released at the end of the 2006-2007 season.

He joined Ebbsfleet in August 2007 and helped them win the FA Trophy in May 2008 at Wembley.

Bostwick turned down a contract from Ebbsfleet and signed with Stevenage soon after and was a regular in Stevenage’s midfield and defence.

He then won the FA Trophy again in May 2009, as well as helped the club win back-to-back promotion from Conference Premier to League One.

Bostwick spent four years with Stevenage before signing for Championship club Peterborough United, played 228 games and helped the club win the Football League Trophy in 2014.

After joining Lincoln City in 2017, he won the EFL Trophy the following year, before being named Player of the Season as the club finished the 2018-19 League Two season as champions.

Bostwick joined League One outfit Burton Albion in August 2020, before then returning to his former club Stevenage in January 2022 on a loan basis, and on a permanent base in May 2022, then helped Boro win promotion to League One again.
