Boreham Wood announce a positive move for all with the hope of increasing their average attendance, one of the lowest at their level.
The National League side had on average around 1,185 fans come through the turnstiles last season, and they know they’re doing everything they could to try tempt in new supporters.
And now following on from a vote, it makes sense for them to move Tuesday night matches to Wednesday, not just for the attendance but rest time as explained below…

CLUB STATEMENT:
Following on from member clubs vote to approve an alternative home midweek fixture date other than Tuesday evenings, at each clubโs own discretion, Boreham Wood FC can announce that for the upcoming 2023/24 Vanarama National League campaign, we will trial playing our midweek home fixtures on Wednesday evenings, rather than a Tuesday.
After in depth internal discussions, the club feels that given where we are situated, coupled with the vast amount of competitive football being played on Tuesday evenings throughout the football pyramid, moving our midweek fixtures to Wednesday evening could positively benefit the club due to less fixture clashes with neighbouring teams.
Additionally, from a performance perspective, with a relentless National League fixture schedule, Wednesday evening fixtures could benefit Luke and the team with an extra day to rest, recover and prepare for potential midweek home matches.
Upon the club deciding to move our midweek fixture date, Chairman Danny Hunter commented, โI hope the majority of fans see this as a positive move. We have lots of local supporters who come down and watch us but also support Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham, Watford, amonst many other teams and this will allow them to see a few more games at Meadow Park.
โWeโve now sold over 700 season tickets [target 850] for next season, first team recruitment is going well and the whole facility has been given an upgrade over the last few years, so thereโs lots to be positive about and with our pre-season programme almost upon us, I hope people pop down and see the upgrades for themselves.โ
OUR CLUB. OUR TOWN. OUR COMMUNITY.
Below are the admission prices at the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park for all Vanarama National League fixtures. Please be aware that these are subject to change for FA Cup, FA Trophy and Hertfordshire County Cup matches, as these fixtures require admission prices to be mutually agreed between both Clubs.

This is what fans are saying as Boreham Wood announce a positive move for all with a hope of increasing their average attendance…
@tom_mcconnon_: Cold Wednesday nights in the North Bank ๐ซถ๐ป๐ชต
@brianbuck66: Thank you. This helps me a lot.
@SlevB07: Why doesnโt everyone do this ? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
@duncanyoung68: Agreed. Thereโs a good few reasons that this makes sense!
@trevk37: Would love more clubs to play Wednesday nights, tough to get around everywhere I wanna go with 98% on Tuesdays
@SlevB07: Defo if itโs allowed to me itโs a no brainer ? Like it says in their article, extra days rest and everything
@DavidHomer3: Be good to see @wellingunited do something similar. Must clash with many Charlton and millwall games on Tuesdays. @mattmein1 not sure how easy this is or if its been looked at before?
@Progman68: Maybe they could ask the league to tweak the funding formula in their favour ๐ค every little helps ๐
@dannypea: Think more clubs should do this! I look regularly for Wed night games to attend (as well as Tuesdays) and the only regular step 5/6/7 team I can think of who plays Wednesday’s is Swindon Supermarine.
@BenChillingham: More Friday night games (as per the NWCL on a rotating basis) would be great. Helps pull in a good crowd.
@Wisey999: Ruislip Manor always played their home midweek games on Monday, definitely improved the gate
@Michael14585755: Good idea. Hope it works out
