There are no away goals rule in the EFL playoffs – so the tie would go to extra time if it is level on aggregate.
It didn’t come to that however as on the 76th minute, Newport went in front.
Sheehan saw his ball out to Haynes on the left, his cross was met by Joss Labadie who gets into the area and shoots in from the corner of the six-yard box.
IT’S NOT OVER YETπ³

In yet another sub-plot, Jamille Matt pops up in the middle to latch onto a low cross and level this tie again. What a match!

The goals didn’t stop there, Jamille Matt, you know, the guy who completely mess up his hand earlier in the season, well he’s since recovered much quicker than expected and got Forest Green an equaliser.
Odin Bailey got the ball on the left, curled in a lovely cross and Matt got in front of the defender to clip the ball in from close range.
It was his 17th goal of the season against his former club – it could be the most important of his career.
After six minutes of stoppage time, the game had to go to extra time with it Forest Green 4-2 Newport (4-4 on aggregate).
It looked as though we were heading for penalties following some awful missed chances to win it.
However, it was Forest Green players that fell to the ground deflated and in tears when Newport got the winner on the verge of game ending. 5-4 on aggregate for the Welsh outfit.
Nicky Maynard in the 118th minute.
It could have been even worse for Rovers as the Exiles smacked the crossbar two minutes later.
