Blackburn mock Preston fans and taunt Milutin Osmajic after Yuki Ohashi scores a 95th minute winner to boost Rovers’ survival hopes.
The hosts picked up a much needed three points with a 1-0 victory over their Lancashire rivals. But it had been largely uneventful, with Preston striking the woodwork twice early through.
The three points sees Blackburn now six-points above the Championship relegation zone, while Preston missed the opportunity to move back into the play-off places and could drop as low as 12th depending on the rest of the weekend results.
Videos have surfaced on social media of the chaotic final minute, Blackburn fans running straight over to those in the away end, and manager Michael O’Neill slipping while celebrating.

Blackburn Rovers boss Michael O’Neill told BBC Radio Lancashire:
“I’d have loved us to play scintillating football and be 3-0 up at half-time but it was never going to be that kind of game.
“We had to dig deep and I thought [in the] second half we shaded the game, I thought probably Preston shaded the first half.
“[In the] Second half I thought we did a lot of good things. We had other opportunities we possibly could have done a little better with.
“The game did look like it was going to drift to a 0-0, but that’s why you dig in and you keep doing what you do, and obviously Yuki comes up with a fantastic header and it’s a great way to win the game.”

ย O’Neill told Sky Sports:
“We perservered as much as anything else. I felt there was little in the game. We were better in the second half, Preston were better in the first.
“In the situation we’re in, how do we find a way to win? We found it tonight.
“It’s massive. This club has been in better places over the years and we’ve had a difficult moment and the supporters have had difficult times. It’s lovely to get that win in that nature.
“We’ve not had very many of those this season. It’s a great way to win a game and back-to-back wins can give us some momentum this season.”

Preston North End boss Paul Heckingbottom told BBC Radio Lancashire:
“Angry’s the real emotion, I think. We should have took a point there. The nature of that and it’s anger.
“I can take losing [but] I’m very disappointed. The game itself, we sort of knew Michael [O’Neill] would go with the five at the back, he changed it [in the] second half, and we picked a team we knew would play well against that.
“I felt we had control of the game in spells but without looking the threat we wanted to do.
“We might have territory, we might have had set plays, we might have had moments where we controlled the ball but not enough chances at the end of that.
“I’d have taken a point; us not at our best attacking-wise, a clean sheet away from home and a point is never to be sniffed at in the Championship.”
Heckingbottom told Sky Sports:
“We had control of the game in large spells but we didn’t look a threat. We might have had territory or dangerous situations but not enough shots at the end of it.
“Sometimes when the game is like that in the Championship, coming away from home is tough. We kept them at arm’s length. I’d have taken a point and it should have been a point.
“Every game is an opportunity to pick up points, perform well and showcase. I’d have taken a point. It’s a derby. We tried. We knew which way Michael would go with his team and we picked a team which has done well against that system before.
“We lacked the cutting edge that we wanted to see.”
“I’m going to take myself away from that dressing room.”

Here’s how social media users reacted after Blackburn mock Preston fans and taunt Osmajic after Ohashi scores a 95th minute winner…
@roverseas: fantastic by the lads! Who needs a full-time manager! Hard work paid off – and played together until the end! Great start to the weekend!
@HandOfBarnes: 6 points that wed have lost with VI. What a difference a couple of weeks make. Sure we weren’t at our best for a lot of the game. But we held on and even nicked it, something weve been incapable of doing for almost two years now. Great to see it. #survivalhopes
@KyleWicksAF: God it feels good to be the team that scores in the last minute for a change! Great performance from the team! Huge 3 points!
@NcDevils77: Feels good to be on the right side of a goal in extra time!
@shawwie69: Been a while since Iโve seen so many stay behind after the final whistle to applaud the players. Great persistence by the lads to go to the end. What a difference a manager can make which weโd been long calling for. Cashin my standout player over the past few games. #ROVERS
@cpbrfc: You cannot beat a last gasp winner… feels like forever since #Rovers have done that. And even better to do it against #pne in their 2nd cup final this season… cheers for the 6 points guys! Lancashire is blue and white, again ๐ ๐ตโช๏ธ
@rossPAPAg86: Get in #rovers!!!!! Thank you Yuki! Not had a feeling like this in a long time. Loved the celebrations, especially with my boys! Turning point in the season ๐ช
@ChrisMartin_93: By the way, whoever told us Eiran Cashin is shite was either lying to us or deliberately tempering our expectations so we could be pleasantly surprised that weโve found the Roberto Carlos regen. What a man. They say โnever fall in love with a loan playerโ, butโฆ #Rovers
