Birmingham City linked with shock manager move

Birmingham City have been linked with a shock move for former manager Chris Hughton, who has been out of work since he lost his job at Brighton in the summer.

Current Blues boss Pep Clotet is currently under pressure following a disappointing start to the season which has left his side in 18th in the Championship table, just six points above the drop.

Birmingham managed to beat Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon to book a place in the FA Cup Fourth Round, but life in the league isn’t so great as they are winless in six, have lost five of those games.

The run of poor results has left Clotet, who was appointed as the permanent Blues boss on the 4th of December after being caretaker since May, looking over his shoulder.

According to reliable journalist Alan Nixon, Birmingham are already lining up the Spaniard’s replacement.

Though he adds that trust will be kept in Clotet for now, but should results continue to get worse, the club will make an attempt to bring in their former manager.

In other news, Birmingham City are NOT expecting another points deduction after amicable discussions with the EFL.

Birmingham fans were asked whether they would like Chris Hughton to return to St Andrews, find out what they made of that by clicking on the next page.
