Barnet have managed to surprise fans by signing experienced former Premier League and EFL player Luke Freeman.
The 31 year old comes into the National League outfit having previously made over 350 EFL appearances and most recently at Luton Town, who he left earlier this season.
Now he’s ready to take to life in non league, with his new club Barnet sitting 3rd in the table, and look set to take part in the playoffs, having picked up 55 points from 30 games played, while league leaders Chesterfield are running away with it at the top right now.

Barnet FC is delighted to announce the signing of Luke Freeman.
The winger joins The Bees after leaving Premier League side Luton Town in the summer. Freeman has made over 350 EFL appearances and 11 Premier League appearances throughout his career.
Having come through the Gillingham’s academy, Freeman signed for Arsenal in 2008. He would spend four years with The Gunners before joining Stevenage.

In 2019 Freeman would join Premier League side Sheffield United and feature in 11 Premier League games in the 2019/20 season. Loans at Nottingham Forest and Millwall would follow before moving to Luton Town. The 31-year-old would play his part in The Hatters historic promotion to the Premier League.
Freeman will wear the number 12 shirt for The Bees.

Interviewer: Luke welcome to Barnet how delighted are you to be here
LF: Yeah very delighted obviously been training the last few weeks now so yeah happy to sign the dotted line
Interviewer: When did you first learn of the interest of Barnet and what made you decide this was the next best next move for your career?
LF: It was a bit of a strange one actually I’ve got a friend that’s obviously Danny who’s obviously working with the gaffer here and he kind of reached out to me and he said do you want to come down for a bit of training and then obviously I come down started to really enjoy it enjoyed the lads obviously the staff are brilliant as well and I just thought it’s right for me
Interviewer: You’ve had quite a career making over 150 Football League appearances and played in the Premier League is that experience that you can pass on to some of the younger players in our squad
LF: Hopefully, the most important thing is just to be a part of this success route to the to the promotion you know so if I can help in anyway that’s what I’m here to do
Interviewer: And you’re no stranger to promotions with Bristol City and Luton how much are you looking forward to the challenge to try and get and bar it back to the Football League
LF: Yeah definitely I mean that’s what every all about isn’t it you know getting promoted and being a part of something special you know so like I said I’m just hoping I can be a part of that and and help the lads get promoted
Interviewer: And our next game is a local rivalry against Wealdstone how much you looking forward to trying and get involved in that game
LF: I’ve heard so and I’m looking forward to there’s no way to go in straight away like that so yeah looking forward to it hopefully looking forward to being part of the squad for the for the weekend’s game
