Barnet impress fans as they reveal what their new stadium will look like with 10 more designs of the proposed plans.
Earlier this year, they announced ambitious plans to construct a new stadium, marking a significant development for the club as it aims to return to its historical roots in the London Borough of Barnet after over a decade at The Hive in Harrow.
The new ground is planned to be located at South Underhill, very close to where the current National League leaders’ former home, Underhill Stadium, once stood.
The proposed stadium will have a capacity between 6,000 and 8,000 fans, reflecting a more modest size compared to some modern football stadiums but tailored to meet the needs of Barnet FC’s fan base and local community.

CLUB STATEMENT:
Since our progress report at the beginning of September, we have the following update for supporters.
As we near last few phases of our pre-application process, we are delighted to share with you our latest stadium visuals from AndArchitects which have been updated in consultation.
Barnet FC would also like to express our continued thanks for all the support received via the Bring Barnet Back campaign. It has been fantastic to see and it really shows how much this means to our supporters, as they have come together in their numbers and made some brilliant headway in their endeavours.
Anyone can get involved by visiting their website www.BringBarnetBack.com. The site has lots of information around this supporter-led campaign including ways to help and contact details.
We hope that we will receive the full support of the Council so that we can bring our incredible Club back to where it belongs and will update supporters again in due course.
As mentioned, Barnet impress fans as they reveal what their new stadium will look like…
@BrknMan: Looks nice, lots of thought appears to have gone into reducing the visual impact from the road. Also maybe TK has learned his lesson about asking for the moon and is going for a sensible sized stadium.
@foreverayellow: very nice looking stadium that, about time we got barnet back home. i don’t mind the hive, but it’s not where barnet should be. this new stadium pretty much back in the location as underhill was will hugely benefit the club, the attendances, the history etc
@tomslevin2: These look sick 🔥🔥
@underhillbilly: I’m going to cry
@neilorange63: Best of luck moving forward. Go you bees 🐝 Eyes on you from Sydney every game 🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
@willgevans1: Looks fantastic – let’s hope we can make this happen 🤞 #BringBarnetBack #BarnetFC 🐝

Gillian Wlodarski: I hope its better than the hive
Pani Mesaritis: Beautiful, our Barnet community needs this to happen. Bring back our football club for the local community. 🟡⚫️✨ 🏟️
CLUB STATEMENT (FEBRUARY 2024)
Barnet FC chairman Anthony Kleanthous first announced plans for the club to leave The Hive and build a brand new stadium back in Barnet.
For over a century, Underhill Stadium served as Barnet’s cherished home until the club faced lease disputes with the council, leading to their relocation in 2013.
But since then, The Bees have been playing their matches at The Hive Stadium, but Kleanthous has consistently expressed his aspiration to eventually bring the club back to its original grounds.
Although Underhill Stadium has been demolished, the process of returning the club to Barnet is about to commence, with plans underway for a new stadium boasting a potential capacity of 8,000.
I am delighted to announce our exciting plans to end our ten-year exile in Harrow and bring Barnet FC back to Barnet.
Our initial three-year tenure at The Hive was extended indefinitely by Harrow Council but I always felt that if it were possible, then Barnet FC should return to the home from where it took its identity.
During the long months of Covid, I busied myself with trying to find a way to bring the Club back home and met with Barnet Council to ask for their support in locating a suitable site on which I could build a new stadium.
I undertook to fund the full cost of construction so that we could progress without any funding delays.
After months of searching, it became clear that the best site was the one we originally identified at South Underhill and so we asked our architect to revisit these proposals.
This new scheme is a redesigned slimmed down version of our original planning application at the South Underhill site and accounts for the existing layouts and usages in place with the new school and their needs at the forefront of the project.
Why it matters
Keith D. – I am supporting this campaign because I believe that Barnet FC should live in the heart of the town of Barnet and once back home the club will serve the wider community with passion and pride.
This isn’t just for the here and now but for the generations to come. Enabling our children to grow up and support their local team, communities benefiting from improved of sport facilities in the borough, while businesses and shops get their buzz back.
Barnet FC being back home will rejuvenate the High Streets and communities across the borough.
This might be our last chance to achieve this.
I urge everyone to get behind it while we have the opportunity. With your support we can Bring Barnet Back!
Carla D. – Quite simply Barnet FC should be in Barnet and this move back home will benefit us all. My earliest memories of home games include walking down Barnet High Street from my Grandma’s house and chatting to other Bees fans we passed along the way.
There is no doubt that the community aspect of this club is the reason I fell in love with it. Not only will a move back to Underhill allow the club to regain some of its core support and soul, but local businesses will boom on match days and feel the positive effects of the return too.
We have always been a community club and the people of Barnet having their local club so easily accessible again will only have positive effects with the growth of the club, its fanbase and the Borough more generally. It’s time to go home: Bring Barnet Back!
Iain D. – This campaign is a chance to revitalise all of Barnet with the return of one of the community’s biggest assets – for generations to come to enjoy!
To take my children to watch Barnet truly play at home will be a dream come true.
We must Bring Barnet Back for the history, the present and the future!”
Mark W. – This may be the last chance the town of Barnet will have to get it’s football club back.
Without Barnet FC, the town has lost part of it’s soul.
Craig C. – Barnet FC belongs in Barnet.
Our history is woven into the fabric of the town and the borough, and should be part of the future too.
Let’s Bring Barnet Back and reforge those bonds of community and togetherness that served everyone in Barnet so well for over 100 years.
Iain B. – Football clubs are the beating hearts of their communities. The power of a local, community-focussed football club can truly reinvigorate everyone in the town of Barnet and have positive effects across the borough.
Bring Barnet back isn’t just about football. It’s about putting a dynamic hub at the heart of the town and revitalising the community and high street after a difficult decade.
This campaign is for everyone; fans, residents, businesses and anyone who supports Barnet coming home.
We need everyone to come together to help bring the club home.
Underhill is where we belong.
Charlie C. – I went to St Catherine’s primary school at the bottom of Barnet hill. Starting that school as a 5 year old coincided with my first game at Underhill. Literally across the street. I used to look at the floodlights from the playground on my lunch break counting down the days until the next home game.
I used to beg my Dad to take me to the club shop on the high street before games.
The fact that kids from Barnet in the last decade haven’t been able to experience that magic feeling as a child is pretty devastating.
We have a chance to change that for the new generations. Bring Barnet Back home.
Aydogan M. – For 126 years the people of Barnet shared stories and experiences together of the classic players and teams that graced Underhill, the likes of legends such as Jimmy Greaves and Edgar Davids.
For 10 years the town of Barnet has been quiet, missing the buzz of a match day.
Let’s bring back those people to reinvigorate our shops and businesses and make Barnet buzz again”
