Aston Villa fans attacked by PSG fans in Paris with chairs and punches thrown

Video emerges allegedly of Aston Villa fans being attacked by PSG fans in Paris with chairs and punches thrown outside a bar.

Aston Villa and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans clashed in Paris on the evening of April 8th, 2025, a day ahead of the highly anticipated Champions League quarter-final match at the Parc des Princes.

The incidents took place on the streets of the French capital, with videos showing supporters throwing punches, chairs, and drinks in the streets.

One picture shows trouble outside O’Sullivans By The Mill along Boulevard De Clichy, a go-to spot in Paris for lunch, dinner, and parties.

The altercation occurred less than 24 hours before the first leg with it thought that around 3,000 Villa fans are to have travelled to Paris for the game, even though only 2,000 tickets were allocated to the club, leaving many supporters to watch from local bars.

French authorities had rated the match a three out of five on their risk scale for potential trouble, a precaution that proved warranted given the events that transpired.

The cause of the brawl remain unclear—whether it was a spontaneous flare-up or a pre-meditated confrontation is yet to be determined.

But it’s said that PSG ultras attacked Villa fans, shows a group, some with hoods up, rushing toward others, escalating the situation from verbal exchanges to physical violence within moments.

PSG, who have just won the Ligue 1 title win and a penalty shootout victory over Liverpool in the last 16, are seasoned contenders in European competition, adding further stakes to the encounter.

As the teams get set to face off, this unfortunate incident has cast a shadow over what promised to be a thrilling footballing spectacle.

Twitter users reacted on the video which allegedly showed Aston Villa fans attacked by PSG fans in Paris with chairs and punches thrown…

@_stonyd: Some of those guys are in their 60s! 👏👏👏

@bertybear73: Villa old team defending the boozer, good effort

@thewesthamkid: All the old boys blowing off steam on one last European ding dong 😂😂😂 get up em boys

@snorklton: Notice how the old lot out of there prime are having a go and the young fit lads are inside filming brave new world

@Seelsya_: PSG fans can be awful. Tried to cause issues in Newcastle. 🫤

@irontoon_gym: Always the same in Paris.. horrible

@Chris_Mills_: Looks like a well organised French mob attacking a pub (like normal) full of pisshead English and getting embarrassed by some granddads.

@DavidNansett: Does anyone else hope to see that one guy just sitting there eating a meal and ignoring everything going on around him?

@DELBOYRICO: Big lump at the front and frenchy in blue flapping it to 3 villa fans 😂😂😂 gew on the villa

@CommonSenseThx: Middle aged villa fans having a drink attacked by European thugs clad in black who’ve obviously premeditated the attack, of course the people in the replies blame the English lot

@p2h44xg579: Well done Villa lads for protecting yourselves 👏

@JamesPike1702: The whole concept of football fans fighting each other is mad to me. Like someone who works for Tesco going feral if he sees a lad who works for Asda on a night out. If you want to fight people because they wear a different colour top than you, then you need therapy.

@SoddenYorkshire: Grown men fighting each other over which group of multimillionaires they spend their hard earned money on watching 😂

@Wayne__sc: Credit to the lads outside, but put the phone down and help 🤦‍♂️

@andorich87: Well done villa, loads would have legged it inside the boozer. That Paris is one moody gaff. They would have had a good few young lads, tooled up, knowing the area well and best places to make a move. Looks like a few older lads stood and made sure they didn’t take the piss

@Darryn1972 : Imagine sitting in the pub that’s being attacked, watching your countrymen and fellow fans, heavily outnumbered preventing the attackers entering the pub, whilst you sit inside filming it??

@RyanKeenleyside: Same thing happened to Newcastle last year, them Paris lot need to get a grip of themselves before someone gets killed and the ultras get banned again

@dylanastle1: Been all over Europe and had no trouble at all, don’t let anyone fool you that it’s the “English disease” PSG up to their usual bullshit #avfc

@CS__UTV: New semi final ticket criteria needs to announced. Top criteria should now be ‘The ones who held off PSG ultras’

@graeme_marshall: No prizes for guessing which ones are the villa fans 😂
