Aston Villa announce plans for a bold regeneration project at Villa Park

Aston Villa announce plans for a bold regeneration project at Villa Park, while also creating a fan experience zone of the future.

It includes the development of The Warehouse, with this new facility is expected to be operational by Christmas 2025 and will offer a multi-use venue free to ticketed supporters on matchdays.

The project aims to enhance both the supporter experience and the local community around Villa Park, aligning with broader regeneration efforts in the area.

STATEMENT:

Aston Villa Football Club is pleased to announce its plans for a bold regeneration project at Villa Park that will build on the Clubā€™s 150-year heritage, while also creating the fan experience zone of the future.

Expected to go live Christmas 2025, the new project includes the launch of The Warehouse, a new multi-use venue set to become a centrepiece of the matchday experience and a hub for year-round entertainment, along with a new ticketing office, improved plaza in the North Grounds, and expanded footprint of the club shop.

Admission to The Warehouse will be free for ticketed supporters on matchdays, when the venue becomes the largest beer hall in the Premier League ā€“ a vibrant space to connect, enjoy a pint, and soak in pre-match excitement with state-of-the-art LED lights and flat-screen TVs. Beyond matchdays, The Warehouse will transform into the Midlandsā€™ premier concert venue and event space. The 3,500-seater venue will host world-class performances, from live music and sporting events to community activities, creating a versatile space for audiences of all kinds. Designed to bring the Aston and Birmingham communities together, it will also serve as a platform for local and global talent, making an impact far beyond Villa Park.

Completing the vision is an expanded plaza in the North Grounds, designed to amplify the matchday atmosphere. This space will host player receptions that will be bigger than ever before, setting the tone for unforgettable game days. The plaza will connect Villa Park stadium with The Warehouse and the new club shop that opened earlier this season, creating an electric environment that welcomes Villans to one of the best matchday experiences in the Premier League.

Over the past five years, Aston Villa has risen to become one of the highest-performing clubs in the world, enjoying the most prosperous period in its 150-year history. Over the last eighteen months Aston Villa has mirrored this success off the pitch, taking a deeply strategic approach to ensure Aston Villaā€™s continued rise, all in the face of Premier League-mandated financial regulations. Introducing this significant redevelopment project of the North Grounds generates additional revenue streams that allow the Club to comply with stringent Premier League regulations, while ultimately solidifying its position as a powerhouse capable of continually competing and winning at the highest level.

Chris Heck, President of Business Operations, said: ā€œThis is a transformational project, well on its way to completion for next season.

“We want to create the best matchday experience possible in the Premier League, so weā€™re giving our fans an open space to do what fans do bestā€“come together to celebrate the players, the game and the lifeblood of this community. And the strategic decision to utilize this space as a world-class entertainment venue adds another pivotal piece to climbing the financial fair play mountain.

“Everything we do is designed to make this Club one of the best in the world, on and off the pitch.ā€

This is how fans reacted as Aston Villa announce plans for a bold regeneration project at Villa Park…

@_stonyd: Looks absolutely brilliant. Will be a fantastic venue in matchdays and will make such a difference. Instead of rushing off after the game people can stay and have. A few drinks and wait for traffic to die down. Iā€™m sure it wonā€™t be long before the North Stand is done too

@GarySmithJnr: How are fans moaning about this? šŸ¤£ We are getting so privileged lately. I think this looks really good.

@chrisrowley4: Some of the comments on here šŸ™„ Anyone would think we were stuck in League One and not near the top of the Premier League and Champions League šŸ˜‚ #AVFC

@Mintvilla1: Its not bold though isit, its massively scaled back from the last set of plans you had, those were actually bold… the increase in capacity might of allowed for decently priced tickets… instead we get a “plaza” and sky high tickets. Done on the cheap… great.

@EllisDennantAV: I like it personally. Will be very good, music venue as well šŸ‘€ Nice bit of positivity from me for a change. Would be nice to get the North Stand redeveloped but letā€™s face it, they ainā€™t gonna do it cuz, drop in ā€œmatch day revenueā€ šŸ™„

@JackOfAllGamess: Not having the complaining in the comments over this. This actually looks so mint. The Warehouse venue is going to be a good addition as well. Can already think of a couple of events that could go thereā€¦ šŸŽ®šŸ‘€

@tom_av25: Personally myself always go for a beer / food in the centre or by the ground as thereā€™s not much to do nearby otherwise, this is quite a cool new thing for fans on a match day now. Be interesting to go and see what itā€™s like when finished, exciting stuff. šŸ‘

@LoveMcGrathpod: I really like this idea. Itā€™s a good start, a revenue stream and also a building block to more at VP I would imagine. Yes itā€™s not anything new thatā€™s being announced but itā€™s incremental progress.

@DLarv86: The comments on this is the reason some villa fans donā€™t deserve nice things. Just a wall of moaning and negativity. Most of them would be wetting themselves with excitement if they got a FREE pint included with every visit though šŸ™„ #AVFC

@AVFCstreet: One thing iā€™ve learnt since we got taken over, we have the biggest fanbase of moaners in the league. The clubs gone nowhere but forwards and everyone is still complaining, im convinced some fans donā€™t want to see this club move forward

@DRichardcornish: Looks amazing!!

@theavfcfaithful: This looks really good (if itā€™s free entry on matchdays etc) but we really need to expand the stadium and renovate the train stations.

@kathrynxjane: Biggest beer hall in the Premier League. You will never sing that.

@TomhendryAV: Canā€™t wait for this to open šŸ‘ŒšŸ» #avfc

@Tom_sargent16: This is a massive step to getting that increased revenue we so desperately need if done right this could be huge for us as a club #UTV #AVFC

@mgmatt1983: Now this looks really impressive, I can’t lie.
